Liberterian lady answering question on gun control. She was stellar in front of SCONJ, as well. What a shame that she doesn't have a snowball's chance.

Unfortunately, NJ is RINO central--but Forrester is not as bad as most Republicans here.
Forrester did real well tonight. Lautenberg showed himself to be a petty, vicious debater--pretty much the way he was as a Senator.

I am from New Jersey (Freehold)> I have run as a Republican in there, and I have worked on campaigns there. I hate to say this, but there is no scenario by which Forrester can win a state-wide election in New Jersey. Whitman may be the last Republican to do it, and she was one of the reasons many republicans bolted the party and/or New Jersey. (They are RINO's of the highest order).
There are still many excellent republican enclaves in the state, but far too many to elect a Republican state-wide.
I would love to be wrong, but this one will be a double-digit defeat for Forrester. (At this point, only a Nor'ester could save Forrester, as voter turnout will have to be massively repressed. If it's sunny and 60 degrees, the senile old man will win big, sit until December of '03, and McGreevey will then appoint Menendez).
I am wondering, I did not hear the debate. Did Forrester challenge Lautenburg to sign a pledge to serve his full term. I advised the campaign to push that issue, but I don't think they were going to run with it. It would have been a great way to keep the stench of the fix in people's minds, without seeming like they were whining.)

It doesn't matter what Lautenberg and Mondale do or so -- the problem for conservatives are the socialist-minded electorates in NJ and MN. These folk think government can solve any problem brought before it. And they will all die thinking this, no matter what evidence there is to the contrary.

I was stationed on Guam back then with next to no US news available and I even remember Lautenberg using the age issue against Fenwick. Lautenberg couldn't tell the truth to save his life. Of course voters forgive him because he a Democrat and not expected to to be truthful.

Hey, any friend of Strom Thurmond is an "OldFriend" of mine--how ya doin'? Keeping things hopping on the NJ state thread?

I watched about the same amount of time as you (from Louisiana) and I agree with you. That bordered on the macabre. The socialist was straight out of Radio Pyongyang. The Green was an amusing imbecile, and Laut was a doddering old fool who looked like he was in the lobby of a nursing home looking for a cup to drool in.
If Forrester loses, NJ deserves to slide into the ocean and be forgotten.

There's a bunch of sheeple up here in the Northeast who would wholeheartedly agree with the Greenie and the Socialist ((shudder)). Hopefully, they're not registered to vote.Actually it would be GOOD for folks to vote for the Green and Socialist candidates in NJ. They would take votes away from the Lout!! Forrester would really benefit from that scenario!

The Louse refused to debate unless ALL the fringe candidates were included.
While they were all kooks for the most part, they all made him look even more feeble.

You know my Dad had Laut as a client for a while back in the old days. He despises Laut from personal experience. I just thought it was his old "rock ribs" showing. But after tonights performance, I understand why.
To: sonrise57
Yes, that's right. Lautenberg couldn't hold a candle to your Dad.

I watched a Forrester-Torricelli debate about 6 weeks ago and sent a contribution to Forrester the next morning.
Forrester cleaned Lautenberg's clock tonight as well or better than he dispatched Torricelli!!
Who will the Democrats get now to fill in for the Louse at the last minute??
