He did not say who he might name as the temporary replacement.

Could Jesse himself go?!?

Let's look at this - he's implied that he would step down prior to the end of his turn, which would put Lt. Gov. Mae Schunk in the Governor's mansion until the newly elected governor takes office in January - which he said was one of his goals for the final weeks of his term. It would certainly put an "Independant" in the Senate. It would drive Daschle clean up the wall.

It sounds like a win-win situation for everyone involved...

Good for Jesse, screw the democrats. People aren't as stupid as the dems think and their behavior at the "memorial service" will anger people and open the eyes to the partisinship of the demoncat party.

You changed the title of the article to make it sound like Jesse has already decided to make an appointment. He has not. The winner of the Nov. 5 election will automatically assume the seat for the remainder of the current term, whether Jesse appoints anyone or not. Unless the certification is held up in court for a while, something that is not yet clear will happen, there is no point to Jesse appointing anyone.

It really says something about Democrats, when a former pro wrestler says that they have gone beyond the boundaries of good taste and common decency.

I figured Ventura would insert some sanity back into the process when I heard he walked out of the "memorial." Think it would have been better had he gone with a Republican and called it like it is...but final judgement should be held until we see his pick.

On a somewhat related matter, came across a good take and presentation at Betty's Mailbox on why Cheney was not invited to the Wellstone memorial service.

Link Here

Definately worth a look.

Good for Jesse. I probably like him more than your average FReeper, but then again, anyone who says to a socialist, after being ambushed by said socialist, that 'it's not the gov'ts responsibility to pay for your education' isn't all that bad.

Atta boy Jesse! That was an obscenely partisan and mean-spirited display.

Go Jesse!

This presents a problem for the Dirtycrats, and their Goebell-esque forces in the media.

1. Ventura is not a "right wing" GOP clad person, hence they cannot lable him and dismiss him

2. It draws more attention to that horrific orgy called a "Memorial Service."

The cynic in me says the GOP is toast in the MN Senate race- - but, the FilthyCrats overplayed their "sympathy" hand to such a degree that there may be hope.

If Ventura appoints an "Independant", then the makeup of the Senate would be 49 Dems,49 Reps, 2 Ind.

Any change the new indie would vote against Dasshole for "majority" leader? If he did, Cheney could break the tie vote.

``I'm begging you to help us win this Senate election for Paul Wellstone.''

Let me see, valuating themselves and getting credit during a funeral service that is supposed to credit the dead. Appropriating the voice of Wellstone for the party. The world needs love in mourning, but Dems need their votes.

Jesse blows hot, Jesse blows cold.

One never knows where his emotions and ego will take him.

But even if we get a lame-duck majority in the Senate by some quirk, that does not mean that Daschle will allow a reorganizing vote. So, it may mean zilch.

I can't believe nobody posting here has figured out the BIG picture. Between election verification (which can be delayed by lawsuits up till Januray 5th) and the election the Senate is in REPUBLICAN CONTROL! This means all the judges the RATS have been holding up can be approved ON MASS! A huge victory for the country and the rule of law. A big defeat for the Looting RAT forces of evil!

The quote from Ventura that originally appeared in this article has been pulled by the Star Tribune.

Dear Jessie,

Do you really want to show the Democrats how horrible you found that service? Appoint Norm Coleman as the junior Senator for the Great State of Minnesota. I think they'll get the point, as will the voters.
