Adding another complication, Gov. Jesse Ventura, upset by what he felt was a partisan tone of the Wellstone memorial service, said he will try to appoint an independent instead of a Democrat to temporarily fill Wellstone's seat until the winner of the Nov. 5 election is certified.
Ventura had said he favored a replacement from Wellstone's party, but that was before he walked out of Tuesday night's service. He referred to a speech by one of Wellstone's closest friends, Rick Kahn, in which Kahn told the crowd, ``I'm begging you to help us win this Senate election for Paul Wellstone.''
``It drove the first lady to tears,'' Ventura said Wednesday on a talk radio show. He did not say who he might name as the temporary replacement.

the GOP is toast in the MN Senate race- - but, the FilthyCrats overplayed their "sympathy" hand to such a degree that there may be hope. I'm going to disagree with that last statement. I believe that there is more then just "hope". I think the Dems completley blew it and they are begining to realize it (apology issued earlier today).
I believe that that the people of Minnesota, although completly liberal, are also fundamentally honest, with old fashioned values. This will translate to fewer votes for "Mon-stone", which will mean an edge going to Coleman. They may not vote for Coleman, but by witholding their vote for "Paul-Mondale" the scales will tip to the R's.
Let's hope so anyway.

``I'm begging you to help us win this Senate election for Paul Wellstone.'' Let me see, valuating themselves and getting credit during a funeral service that is supposed to credit the dead. Appropriating the voice of Wellstone for the party. The world needs love in mourning, but Dems need their votes.

Jesse blows hot, Jesse blows cold.
One never knows where his emotions and ego will take him.
But even if we get a lame-duck majority in the Senate by some quirk, that does not mean that Daschle will allow a reorganizing vote. So, it may mean zilch.

I can't believe nobody posting here has figured out the BIG picture. Between election verification (which can be delayed by lawsuits up till Januray 5th) and the election the Senate is in REPUBLICAN CONTROL! This means all the judges the RATS have been holding up can be approved ON MASS! A huge victory for the country and the rule of law. A big defeat for the Looting RAT forces of evil!

I hope Ventura will make up for the hideous spectacle of last night. GO, GOP! For victory & freedom!!!

Current Minnesota law states that absentee ballots with Coleman's name will count, but NOT those with Wellstone's name. This is Bullsquat. Votes for Wellstone DO count...they count for Wellstone.
Dems are mad that votes for Wellstone don't count for Mondale.

Dear Jessie,
Do you really want to show the Democrats how horrible you found that service? Appoint Norm Coleman as the junior Senator for the Great State of Minnesota. I think they'll get the point, as will the voters.
