ABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico, Oct. 27 President Bush left a summit conference here today without a pledge from Mexico to support the American resolution in the United Nations Security Council to disarm Iraq.
Mexican officials made it clear that Mexico is siding with France in the debate at the United Nations. While the United States is demanding one resolution that includes a legal basis for the military action against Iraq, France wants two stages, authorizing force only when Baghdad fails to comply with weapons inspections.

Well, I guess we know what to tell Mexico, don't we?
To: madfly
Mexico is not our friend in any way and the example of California should alarm the rest of the country( conservatives in particular) as to what a flood of them will mean.

Mexico to Bush: "Just open the damn borders, send money, and, no, we won't support you on Iraq. Now, protect our citizens crossing the border to work in the USA...and provide them water and food and taxi service and social benefits and better salaries. After all, we need the money they send back here to Mexico."

Talk about biting the hand the feeds you, sheesh. Too bad bush will still refuse to militarize the south boarder, even after the election. If he did, then that would send the right signal to our friend Vicente Fox and actually help our country.

Mexico, they will eventually wake up and join other modern nations. Until then, they will remain a corrupt little poor third world impoverished country.

"You're either with us, or you're with the Terrorists."
Guess Bush didn't get the mileage he was hoping for out of the Amnesty for Illegals episode.

"Mr. Fox seeks some legal rights for more than three million undocumented Mexican immigrants in the United States, along with more visas and expanded guest-worker programs. He says implementation of those goals will benefit both the security and the economy of the United States."Interesting how Fox still expects concessions from the US.

Seems like Blair-Sharon are the big believers. Wonder what happened in the last dozen years to change the coalition that Bush, the Elder, put together?

Mexico is a great ally of the U.S., just like France.

Yes, but a better way might be to use the money spent on illegals to buy them a first-class ticket (one way) to France; send the prisoners on the first flight out.

Good news. It means Bush didn't give Fox any encouragement on the immigration issue.
And the US will do what has to be done in Iraq anyway, irrespective of what that latin American lounge lizard does or doesn't support.
