I have a feeling that there won't be a need for any gitmo type holding pen for the radical muslims holding hostages in Russia...
To: Jasonconley
Very scary. Unfortunately, I don't believe they have a choice. Hundreds will be killed, but hundred more saved.

You would figure they would have done that from the offset. There is no use what so ever of negotiating with Muslim Terrorists. Death is the only thing they understand, just wish the good guys used a few gallons of pork fat on them before doing them in.

Prayers for Alpha Force and the hostages.

Any thoughts on what the Russians may do AFTERwards? They like to get even.

What horrible time this must be for the hostages and their families.
My wife and I will leave tomarrow for Moscow. We are adopting a baby girl from an orphanage in Stavropol.

It's currently 6:37PM in Moscow. I expect that this operation will be carried out overnight (their time) and should hopefully be resolved by the time we start heading home from work today.

6:00 am tomorrow That's 10pm tonight CST folks. Start praying.

They've become our ally in WW III -- though neither side seems to wish to admit it.

OMG. Prayers for the victims and hostages. Saw a horrible picture in the NY Post today of a dead woman being dragged out of the theatre. This is one scary situation. Maybe Russia will change its mind after this about Iraq. France is already moving in our direction.

Why didn't you post the whole article?

To: Jasonconley
Never thought I'd be praying for the success of Russian special forces...

How do you think Ghandi would have fared against the Russians?...so much for the theory of Passive Resistance...it only works against a people committed to angst..and guilt...
The Russians have no such hangups...vodka helps imo
If they dont have a big backup plan to take all the hostages with them as well as the anti terrorist troops...
Yes some hostages might live...picking them all out of the rubble and separating them from the terrorists might be difficult..
To: Jasonconley
I wonder what the mood of the Russian people are. They've been dealing with these people and war and death for a good number of years now. Will this be Russias vietnam?
To: Jasonconley
I find this quite unbelievable....virtually no coverage on radio...they are still discussing sniper.....why the blackout of news coverage? I don't get it.

Prayers for them. This is awful.
I have read, here and there, that preparations are being made for an attack - security forces from several countries are there. British and Spanish special services(who have a lot of experience with explosives, because of the IRA and ETA) are among them - I don't know who else is involved, possibly the Israelis, but without publicity.
Prayers for all of the security forces, too.

These Muslim terrorists perhaps might not fear death, but I'm quite sure they fear torture. If at all possible, they should be captured alive and tortured endlessly (with videos of the 'sessions' being sent back to Chechnya). Terrorism would be significantly curtailed if this sort of action were taken, imo. Death is easy (especially if one has convinced oneself of the 72 virgin myth). Pain is not.
