Remember the Al Qaeda training videos and manuals. Hostages are to be siezed in order to gain access to the media, and then killed in spectacular fashion. There is no scenario where the hostages are released unharmed.

The US military finally hunts down and kills Osama Bin Laden. Osama is lifted to the pearly gates.

There, he is greeted by George Washington. "How dare you attack the nation
I helped conceive!" yells Washington, slapping Osama in the face.
Patrick Henry comes up from behind. "You wanted to end the Americans'
liberty, so they gave you death!" Henry punches Osama on the nose.

James Madison comes up next, and says "This is why I allowed the Federal
government to provide for the common defense!" He drops a large weight on
Osama's knee.

Osama is subject to similar beatings from John Randolph of Roanoke, James
Monroe, and 65 other American patriots.

As he writhes on the ground, Thomas Jefferson picks him up to hurl him back
toward the gate where he is to be judged. As Osama awaits his journey to
his final very hot destination, he screams "this is not what I was promised!"

An angel replies "I told you if you died attacking America there would be
72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What the heck did you think I said?"

Don't discount the AlQaeda link to John Mohammed, the DC sniper. Mohammed was a Black Muslim who served as a bodyguard to the lurid Louis Farrakhan during the Way-Short-of-a-Million Man March in DC. He and his confederate Malvo had repeatedly expressed hatred for the United States and their support for the 9/11 terror attacks. John Mohammed also trained at an Alabama! paramilitary camp believed to be a major AlQaeda training center in the US. He is close to a leading "religious" figure in Britain, known for his fiery rhetoric in support of the 9/11 terrorists. Don't think what this garbage is doing in Moscow can't be done here!

If I were Putin, I'd tell the moose-limbs for every hostage killed the Russian Air Force will destroy 10 moose-limb mosques and villages. Heck, I'd call GWB and ask the USAF B52s to carpet bomb all mosse-limb areas in Chechenya! (Of course the US would not do this: we never bomb moose-limbs especially on their holidays!)
