WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE 2002 ELECTIONS? GO VOLUNTEER, AND ABOVE ALL VOTE!

Due to volunteering in a Congressional Campaign in my State of Oklahoma, I have not been on here much in the last month. It is probably a good thing because some of what I have been reading last night and this morning make me want to scream!

A lot of Freepers are volunteering in campaigns across this Country because we want to make sure Republicans Keep the House, Take Back the Senate, and win our State races. We are not moaning and whining about polls or what some moronic writer has to say in the paper, we are doing something about insuring our candidates win.

When the dust settles on election night, a lot of us will know that we have done everything we can to insure a Republican victory on November 5th! Can some of you say the same?

Have you volunteered in your local Congressional campaigns or State races?

Have you called your friends and family to ask them to vote Republican on Nov 5th?

Have your talked to your neighbors and co-workers about voting Republican in November?

Have you sent emails to everyone on your list asking them to vote Republican?

Have you given everyone you know the reasons to vote Republican?

Have you volunteered to be a poll watcher for your State Party?

Are you displaying yard signs and/or bumperstrips on your car?

Have you written your local paper endorsing your candidates or taken issue with an article or editorial that you consider wrong?

Most importantly, are you registered to vote and will you vote?

Now when you can answer yes to some of these questions, you have become an activist and not someone sitting behind a computer wringing their hands about how this election is going to turn out. The only true poll is the one that happens on the evening of the 5th of November.

Don't take anything foregranted and even in races where you believe your candidate is ahead, work like they are behind these next 13 days! It is imperative that we

When people are watching, the poll workers are going to think twice! It is so important to have the poll watchers out in this election as we are already seeing instances of fraud in the absentee ballots!

Well said, and I would like to add one more item to your list of "must do's"---donate money! I am from the good 'ole State of Liberal Dem Maryland, and, for the first time, have donated as much as my wallet will allow. It may not be much, (I have two sons in college) but even if my donation helps to buy one half of a second of a TV or radio ad endorsing Ehrlich for Governor, I will be happy. So, GET OUT YOUR WALLETS!!!

Thanks for donating -- you are so right about buying ads and using other media resources like sending out mailouts (we have 11 going out here in our district) and they all take money. Every last penny counts!

Campaign staffs are paid very little, if any in some cases, so that every penny can go to getting out the message!

Every FReeper should get Pollwatcher credentials from any active campaign and get out there on Election Day to monitor precincts in his/her immediate area. Armed with only a cell phone and the knowledge of the phone number of the State Board of Elections in the 1998 General Election, I stopped a electioneering Dummycrat operative whom I followed from precinct to precinct here in north "Crook County", IL until he got the message that I was gonna turn him in to the authorities.
