Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

Also I feel that if this was terrorists, they would start kidnapping people first for a ransom instead of killing people first for a ransom and the ransom would be more like 50 million plus.

Just as thought about the "I am GOD" note - didn't Bill Paxton play a sniper in the movie "Navy Seals" that called himself "God". IIRC it was him having his eyes on everything (like God) from his position that gave him the name. Anyone know where Bill has been these last couple of weeks? ;)
- "Come in, God."
- "God here."

A couple of other things that make me think that this is a domestic nut job.
If it is organized terrorism, wouldn't it be happening in more than one major city?
If it was organized terrorism wouldn't they want to do the shootings directly in the D.C. metro to make a stronger point rather than shooting in the suburbs?

Very Interesting Comment!
He kept the names of the people who answered the phone. Could Linda Franklin have been one of them?
Maybe, yes/no.......but,....either way,.....
Condor,........"Their 'IN' the House!"
ari,.....remember/ever play the old computer game,..."Pac-Man"?

BTW, good morning... You're welcome for the links. I've yet to find the words of that awful man who said the sniper isn't targeting one particular group. I consider that lamebrain a big fat liar.
To: Peach
20 body bags could also mean, that 20 more would die, and not necessarily all in one day.
To: slimer
I can't remember why I posted that now.. LOL Anyway, I liked your post. :)

Wow. Anyone know her well enough to call her on a land phone? Definitely extra prayers for valleygirl and her family - sounds like they have some information that is terribly upsetting to them - as though this matter isn't upsetting enough.

I've not seen the movie, but when this all started...some freepers were talking about a sniper in that movie who called himself God.

While LE is looking back, the sniper is looking ahead. Would be great to see some 'local hunters' tracking this perp like the animal he is, giving HIM/whatever a reason to be looking back!

I hate people who make post that say "Oh yeah, I got the goods but I can't tell YOU." That's much like what 8 year olds do.
Seems to me if they really had concerns about a security issue, it would be best to not say anything at all.
To: wewillnotfail
I was getting ready to say the same thing.. ::shaking head:: where do we come up with this stuff? :)
To: ~Kim4VRWC's~
Kim, just a thought. Do you think her sister had gotten information about the shooter's comments regarding "children aren't safe anywhere at any time" and didn't realize it had become a matter of public consumption by 9:52?

But $10 mil may be a lot of money to the killer (or killers). But why not $100 million? A billion? Why pick that number and not, say, $126,875,321? Because it feels so good when the shooter says it?

She has shared some things about her sis before...so it seems natural to further expound a little. If she hadn't been a regular, and if we didn't know anything about her..I can see where you are coming from.
To: CougarGA7
Could it be organized terrorists trying to distract all law enforcement agencies and get them wrapped up in this case so they can carry out a "big hit" ?
To: wewillnotfail; anguish
Only I was getting ready to say that to anguish's post. See #243
