MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - An attacker opened fire at a university in the southern city of Melbourne on Monday, killing two people and wounding eight others, police said.
Police said a person had been arrested in the shootings at Monash University in southeastern Melbourne.
Paramedics were called to the campus just before 11:30 a.m. (0130 GMT), an ambulance spokeswoman said.
The paramedics at the scene confirmed two people were dead, and two badly wounded, the spokeswoman said on usual condition of anonymity.
She said one man who had been shot in the stomach was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
Another person had been shot in the leg, she added.
Police later said two people were dead and eight people were injured.

Taking something that happened on CNN to extrapolate a broad generalization of the entire country is way over-reacting. And perhaps you could give more weight in THIS forum to what the members of the forum are saying (if you bothered to read them, you would notice that most of them are words of sympathy for our Australian cousins) rather than insulting them by comparing them to a "news" organization most of them wouldn't even watch.
That being said, to the other Aussie members of FR, heartfelt sympathy for everyone affected by the murderers in Bali and by this incident as well.

Two people are dead, and there are scant details. Insulting my entire country because the Communist News Network demonstrates its usual level of stupidity serves no cause except to give you some bizarre excuse to vent what is obviously a psychotic disdain for all Americans.
