Greetings to all FReepers from a friend in Florida: Here's my suggestion & request. Please copy & paste this to your e-mail & send it to everyone you know in Florida. We will do our best to get rid of these judges.
Dear Friend:
One of the wonderful things about living in Florida is that we periodically get the opportunity to vote judges out of office. Unfortunately, many of us don't follow the courts that closely & can't remember who the bad judges are on election day. Please print the list below and ATTACH IT TO YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION CARD TODAY so you will have it with you next election day. Keep voting against these judges until they are all gone. Print copies for friends & family. Forward this e-mail to every Florida resident you know.
Six Democrats & one Independent mean a liberal activist court. All seven Justices voted to extend the original election certification deadline, which was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Thank you.
Voting FOR Gore & Statewide recount on 12/8/00:
Harry Lee Anstead; Appointed August 29, 1994 by Gov. Lawton Chiles
Barbara J. Pariente; Appointed December 10, 1997 by Gov. Lawton Chiles
R. Fred Lewis; Appointed December 7, 1998 by Gov. Lawton Chiles
Peggy A. Quince; Appointed December 8, 1998 by the late Gov. Lawton Chiles & approved by Gov-Elect Jeb Bush
Dissenting Opinions:
Chief Justice Charles T. Wells; Appointed June 16, 1994 by Gov. Lawton Chiles
Leander J. Shaw, Jr.; Appointed January 1983 by Gov. Bob Graham
Major B. Harding; Appointed January 22, 1991 by Gov. Lawton Chiles

If you would go to the Florida site you would see that periodically I have posted the same. We must remember. We must not forget. We must remove them because that is the only way the Justices can be held accountable!!!!
VOTE THEM OUT

Doctors are also being encouraged to vote the Supreme's out- because of their veto of tort reform legislation. Outrageous puntive damage awards have raised malpractice premiums beyond reality (premium can be 75% of coverage)- and doctors are being driven from the state.
Another reason to realign the SCOFla.

Hi sungirl, I wanted you to get the ping.

You did great. I dont always have the time and I am glad you responded to your friends request. We need to get organized on this Freepers. It needs to be a lightning campaign clearly stating the reason's and showing how it took the representative government away from the people.
Give any opposition no time to adequately react.

Does anyone know what the laws are for placing posters near the voting area? It would KICK to place signs there reading, "Vote out the Florida Supremes!" or something like that...
To: =Intervention=
In most states, electioneering is banned within 50 feet of a polling place.
Except for Democrats. :-)

Does anyone know if any other judges are up for retention this time other than Anstead and Wells? Or are their names in with others?
I plan on sending this info out to my personal emailing list and want to lay out the scenario my friends and neighbors will see on the actual ballot. Thanks.

Absentee ballot bump. (^:
Re. local judges - in over 20 years that the voters have been allowed to vote "NO," not one judge has been voted off the bench. Unless a voter knows a judge personally, they have nothing to go on but a name on election day. It's a sham vote, darnright un-American.

My NO vote is already marked on my absentee ballot regarding Anstead and Wells!
Bump!

In addition to the Supremes, there are also a number of judges from the district courts of appeal up for retention. Go here and you can check the names by county. Your county supervisor of elections (most are online) should have sample ballots by precinct as well.
