Our schools are open, and I think they talked to a student last night that said school would be open.

The only one's I know of affected are federal closures.

If we don't see anything today then can we contemplate that the shooter hides behind a federal job?

Friends in the area now telling me that the local gas stations are putting up signs offering to pump the gas for you and some stations are putting up some kind of curtain arrangement or blocking the gap between car and gas pump with large placards.

"Most places" is out here in flyover country. We're talking about the heart of the FedGov; they get *everything* off - Groundhog Day, Diversity Day, you name it. Just think about how many days your bank takes off, and add a few.

I looked at your list, and there is no definate pattern established. There have been several north, south and middle dots, but only one each of east or west. That's what I meant by overdue. Only one west, and one east.

Sorry, I saw that after I posted map. Only his first three shooting were east to west but still followed the 123 theory. One middle shooting, another shooting, then a shooting opposite both middle and last dot. See it?

I have a theory (doesn't everyone) about the shooter/s.

1. They are either students attending school in Mongomery Co. or close by or they are unemployed. The timelines posted are not consistant with a person/s who must conform to a rigid 9-5 work schedule.

2. It is possible that they travel south for the weekend. This would account for the two Friday shootings in Spotsylania Co., VA which is outside their cluster of operations during the week. If this is true then that may explain why stopping northbound suspious vehicles was ineffective since they would have continued south after the shooting. This theory also explains why there has been two complete weekends with no incidents. Since today, Monday, is a holiday, it is possible that the lull in activity will continue and the shooter/s will resume tomorrow.

3. If the weekend theory holds true, then one well-placed roadblock on I-95 south on Friday or northbound on Sunday may nab the perp/s. Regardless of the traffic mess it would create, every vehicle should be thoroughly searched for weapons and occupents interviewed before being allowed to resume. This is the method used in Israel and it is effective. This MO of waiting until he/they shoot someone and then stopping white vans only going north will never work and more lives will be lost. Granted, an 8 hour traffic jam is no fun but it could end this madness once and for all. $.02

I see it, I just think he's overdue for an east or west dot. I also suspects the next one will a longer range. The media and others have been commenting on how anyone can do what the shooter has done. Shoot from such a short distance. One guy they were talking to said they should be careful that the shooter might take that as a challenge.

We know what happened the last time.

After considering everything I have seen and heard about "the sniper", and also the other terror events that are going on simultaneously in the world, and given that the US congress and senate are in process of deciding if and when we whack Iraq, I can come to no other conclusion:

This is NOT a homegrown whack job or disgrumbled Michael's employee or GI flunkie from sniper school...no way. This is not someone who is merely psychotic and getting some kind of woody from killing people at random. Nope, this is being done by a stone cold, hardened professional who is ON A MISSION. He (or more likely, they) is doing what he has prepared to do since coming into the US to work at some nondescript job. He has been activated. What scares me is that his mission is being so successful that this will be noted by the enemy leaders. For less than a box of cartridges, he (they) has incapacitated the capital of the US. He will be caught, and then the truth will be known...and then, as the poster says, "I hope Allah's wearing kevlar!"
