I have a theory (doesn't everyone) about the shooter/s.

1. They are either students attending school in Mongomery Co. or close by or they are unemployed. The timelines posted are not consistant with a person/s who must conform to a rigid 9-5 work schedule.

2. It is possible that they travel south for the weekend. This would account for the two Friday shootings in Spotsylania Co., VA which is outside their cluster of operations during the week. If this is true then that may explain why stopping northbound suspious vehicles was ineffective since they would have continued south after the shooting. This theory also explains why there has been two complete weekends with no incidents. Since today, Monday, is a holiday, it is possible that the lull in activity will continue and the shooter/s will resume tomorrow.

3. If the weekend theory holds true, then one well-placed roadblock on I-95 south on Friday or northbound on Sunday may nab the perp/s. Regardless of the traffic mess it would create, every vehicle should be thoroughly searched for weapons and occupents interviewed before being allowed to resume. This is the method used in Israel and it is effective. This MO of waiting until he/they shoot someone and then stopping white vans only going north will never work and more lives will be lost. Granted, an 8 hour traffic jam is no fun but it could end this madness once and for all. $.02

I think your idea has merit. And yes, they should be checking all vehicles. And have patrol cars stationed periodically on the north and south bound lanes. In case the perp catches on that all vehicles are being searched and decides to try and go through the median to avoid being searched. Or leaves the line of cars seeking an alternate route.

I heard on Fox over the weekend that they had found a map near the lastest shooting tracing directions from Northern MD down to the area in VA where last week's events took place. I too have been thinking that the person lived in VA and worked in MD, but this makes me wonder.

It's a good theory. If you go to Mapquest and track each shooting from zip code 23666 you will see how this track is consentant with every shooting. I read a story about two guys that were part of an elite sniping team. The two names in the story turns out is the codenames of two guys in Newport that play military style paintball. Everyone seems to discredit this since it's paintball but seems to me an experienced sniper on the news said the perp perobably plays in competition. A deer hunter said he doesn't know how a deer hunter to change from animal to human. Well, take a guy that has spent the last 17 years playing with realistic sniper guns shooting at people for a sport. The story I mentioned earlier was posted in late Aug. and spoke of leaving death tarot cards at the scenes of the snipings. The only other person on this elite sniping team which has the name of the other story sniper lives in Hampton right next to his buddy in Newport News. All of this information put together leads to a very high probable suspect.
If these guys own over $5000 in legal paintball guns then how many real guns do they own?
