President Bush and First Lady Laura stayed in the nation's capital this weekend so Laura could finish up her National Book Festival yesterday. This morning, the first couple attended church services, and when asked by reporters to comment on the bombing in Indonesia, Bush called the act cowardly and urged the world leaders to once again unite in the global war against terrorism. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

The whole ensemble is well-suited for fall. Which brings me back to my original thought-----who picks out what he wears and how much do I have to pay to get THAT job!!!!!

You were quite right. Indonesia is a real problem. Australia has been struggling against "refugees" who show up demanding asylum, and then escape into the countryside.
I know the Aussies have been dealing with this, but such an horrific death toll must be devastating to the country. One thread tonight says that the death toll may go to 400.

The post is filled. Laura does it :-)

Re: 10 lb Bible. Remember the big one that the impreached one used to carry? It looked like it came off his grandmom's coffee table.

It is a beautiful tie, isn't it?
And Laura just gets prettier.
It seems like the President has kinda taken our burdens on. Glad he's there to do it.

Thank you rintense!

That man was and is such an insufferable phoney. You have to be a real sham of a human being to use the Bible as a prop.

I can't tell on my monitor. Is that suit grey or brown?
Whatever, he looks the way a president SHOULD! Jeans are great in their place, but suits still carry an air of authority. And, boy, does Dubya have authority.
And, yes, that blessed man DOES look tired. Prayers redoubled for him as of NOW.

What she said.
Prayers for all of the victims and their families.

One thread tonight says that the death toll may go to 400. How horrific and barbaric. Most of the victims were in the prime of life. I'm very concerned about the events of the last several days -- the French tanker in Yemen, the Bali massacre, the D.C. shootings, (which may or may not be involved) etc. Things are ratcheting up.

I'm sure that President Bush does have a lot on his mind but I heard him speaking recently and it sounded like he was fighting a cold.

For those who missed it last night, here is an on-line store (approved by the President, as I understand) in which you can buy some cool merchandise to support the President:

I think that you are right about the Aussies and Kiwis. They are major targets for terrorism. This saddens me because I had many friends from what we used to call 'the commonwealth countries' in school. They had a lovely attitude towards life.
I think that the worried look on our dear president's face is because he knows the sleeper cells are awakening. May God help those in Bali right now, the bombing was absolutely horrible and signifies how cheaply these sickos value human life.

He looks like he is trying to protect Laura from a sniper. He has a very protective arm around her instead of holding her hand. Got to be worried about the idiot running around there, too.

Statement by the PresidentTerrorists have once again targeted innocents this time in Indonesia. At least 182 innocent men and women have been murdered and hundreds injured in a cowardly act designed to create terror and chaos.
On behalf of the people of the United States, I condemn this heinous act. I offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of all the murder victims from numerous countries and our wish for the swift and complete recovery of those injured in this attack.
I offer our sympathy to our friends, the people of Indonesia, for this terrible tragedy. Our prayers are also with our friends and allies, the people of Australia, who are suffering a grievous personal and national loss.
The world must confront this global menace terrorism. We must together challenge and defeat the idea that the wanton killing of innocents advances any cause or supports any aspirations. And, we must call this despicable act by its rightful name murder.
The United States has offered its assistance to the government of Indonesia to help bring these murderers to justice.

You are right. It is happening all over the world.

I am especially worried about New Zealand. They are so secluded. Their PM is the most socialist hag I've seen in a long time. Hell, they even retired their air force! And, they are desperate for immigrants.
