Statement by RNC Chairman Racicot on the Democrat Economic Summit

WASHINGTON - Marc Racicot, Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), today issued the following statement:

“Americans who are worried about economic security don't need reminders from Democrats, they need action. The U.S. Congress is the most visible and well-known summit in the world. The Democrats don’t need another one. They should simply use the one they already have to pass important economic legislation initiated by the President, passed by the House of Representatives and stalled by the Democrat-controlled Senate.”

Now if the Republican spokespersons would memorize these talking points it might do a world of good. One thing I give the Clintons credit for was their talking head's discipline concerning the talking points. You could tell how effective they were when you heard callers the next morning on CSPAN reciting them back. Not to mention the boiler room operations.

Agree. . .that the above is well said; and it must be said often. . .

Repubs unite and get your messages out there. . .

Way to take the offensive Mark. Let's hope the candidates don't duck the domestic issues but stick it to Daschle for stalling, just like this.

Very well said! They need to keep repeating this until it is memorized. It is short so they should be able to get it down on what to say!

I like Racicot a lot! What a difference! I really didn't like Nicholson in the 2000 election!

So, did anyone send an emailt to the guy? We huff and puff here, but does anyone ever bother to CONTACT our Senators and Congressmen, and President Bush, And Vice President Richard Cheney, and Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld? Bluster on a website is just a lot of hot air.

That person's email was not legit. I am on AOL and got it back immediately.

I don't write my two Senators and Congressman for a reason. I have Senators Nickles and Inhofe and Congressman Watts soon to be Congressman Cole after January. After stuffing so many envelopes and putting labels on mailers for the Tom Cole for Congress campaign this week, I am not writing my three Reps unless I disagree with something they are doing. I don't want someone on that end doing what I am doing!

Now if I had RAT Reps it would be different -- I would love to see them work! Think I will stay in a Republican area though!

Bravo!

Since Mike Taylor of Montana dropped his candidacy for the Senate, many on this forum have suggested that Marc Racicot be pressured into replacing Taylor on the ballot.

Governor Racicot best serves Republicans in the position he currently holds as Chairman of the RNC. His demeanor and communication skills are of the quality that make him attractive to Independents and rational Democrats. The contrast he provides to Terry McAuliffe is sharply delineated. THAT is the best thing!

Your making me tired just reading that. I voted by absentee ballot today. Strait Republican and the judges they endorsed. Does that count for a few points?

I do. Depending on the topic, I contact Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, President George W. Bush, Vise President Richard Cheney, Secretary of National Secrurity, Condolezza Rice, White House spokesman, Ari Fleischer, and Speaker of the House, Trent Lott. What do you do? Complain, whimper, and whine?

No, he needs to get his ass into that Senate race pronto if he gives a damn about winning a majority. What good are his "skills" against a criminal loon like McAuliffe if he won't put his money where his mouth is ? You think if the Dems needed McAuliffe to run for a seat he wouldn't be in there like a shot ? I say Bush should give him an ultimatum -- either you run for the seat or kiss the RNC Chair goodbye. Enough of this pussyfooting !

Not me. Next time you contact them, tell them I said, "Me too."

What I do is top secret, I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you.
