Why do they have a patrol car parked right in front of the front doors of the police department? Just had a live shot on FOX.Are they afraid of a tuck bomb or something?

Several reports say 'policeman' (With an 'a').
I just heard the Fox news reporter say 'Mister Policeman'.
I do know the original exclusive from WUSA last night said :
'Dear Policeman, I am God.'

You're right...I'm wondering why it was "addressed" at all except to be certain it would be noticed. Did HE call in a tip to the cops and say "I left you something Mr. Policeman"?

That's also the pattern in Isreal. When ever the peace talks become serious, the Suicide bombings begin. The parallel of course is the upcomming resolution supporting the president. It the terror is intended to influence law makers, I would expect continued focus in the DC bedroom areas.

thanks for your thoughts and prayers, valleygal....my girls are sick of staying in for recess, to be sure....but if that's the worst that happens for us, then we got off lucky and blessed.

On the lighter side, they thought it was pretty amusing yesterday that one of the policeman assigned for dismissal used the BOYS room instead of the MENS FACULTY room....which scared one of the little boys walking out to see Johnny Law walking in. They were just in stitches...........ah, to be so innocent.

I don't know, but yesterday one of the reporters, I think Brian Wilson, at the police station said that security there had been kicked up a notch. I can't say that I blame them. What a rush for the guy to take a shot with the cameras of the nation rolling.

Wow...I checked out ABCNews.com and here is a quote from an article regarding the tarot card and what it could mean in the MD shooting case:

Most households in Maryland and DC don't have guns except for the druggies and gang bangers.

So do you think that this nut had possibly left a "calling card" at other scenes and since he had already targeted men and women, they were afraid that a child would be the next target.

This report suggests someone may be considering that possibility, and looking beyond the *men, women and children* as well.

I suspect the killer addressed the tarot card so the inept (his determination) police wouldn't overlook a card with just "I am God" written on in.

I'm more inclined to believe the "calling card" was not part of his original plan. He's had some success, is starting to get a little arrogant, and decided to have some fun. I don'tt think he knows the true meaning of the Death Card. That's what he saw in the movies, and to the novice, the Death Card has to be the Scariest!

I originally thought this was probably ME terrorists, but now I think it's probably a nutcase. However, if nothing else, it has certainly given us a taste of what it would be like if ME terrorists start doing here what they do elsewhere, and hopefully, has given the police and authorities a better idea of how to respond.

One of the impressive things, I think, is that the people in the sniper region do not seem to be hiding in the cellar. They're being careful but tough and strong, from what I can see of the area in news reports (although the press makes it sound as if people are all hiding away and wringing their hands).

Whoa...I really think they knew something before the shooting of the child...and you're correct, that certainly would be an explanation for the SS involvement.
