President Ronald Wilson Reagan. The man who won the Cold War.

I second Reagan. Give it to him while it's still possible. It would be a torture to the left, and would be the anti-thesis of the yasser debacle.

The left went nuts when Reagan talked of "peace through strength." But he achieved just that, bringing to an end both the most brutal regime and the most dangerous conflict in world history.

I nominate Osama Bin Laden.

Hey, why not? They gave one to Arafat! The award became meaningless after that one.

Great post.

I nominate Dr. Norbert Vollertsen because of his efforts to help people who are suffering in North Korea.

I nominate Osama Bin Laden.

You're a genius! If Bin Laden wins, he will come to Olso (not sure if this is the right place) to get his prize and get of the attention and photo ops --- then we got him! And turn him in for the $25 million bounty -- worth a heck of a lot more than the Nobel Peace Prize money.

The CIA guy that died in the Taleban prison riot. Mike Spann I think his name was.

I like the Todd Beamer choice. Wouldn't that be something? But really it should go to all of the Flight 93 heroes.

Reagan, easily the most important political figure of the late 20th century.

I no longer consider the Nobel Prize "noble". Mostly PC driven recognition of traitors, terrorists and despots.

I seriously doubt that they would choose Ronal Reagan or any of the other fine suggestions on this thread. Among the usual suspects considered in years past, I think this year the odds are on the Pope to win.
