LOL! And who is going to stop us? The Gang Of Five in Washington D.C? You just wait and see; we'll get that Lautenberg fellow on the ballot and into the U.S Senate. All hail The Great Daschund!!!

This is disgusting. The position of this court is EXACTLY the same as the FL Supreme Court when they decided that they could unilaterally extend the date of certification to Nov. 26, 2000. Their position is summed up by this: Why should we be held to a strict statute when it denies the voters a choice? The Pubbies are going to lose this one because of legislation from the bench.

You have got to be kidding!!! The justice just asked "what has changed in 16 days to disallow flexibility?"
THE LAW, YOU MORON!!!!!!!!, SAYS THAT THE DEADLINE IS SEPT 16!!!!!!!! This is beyond ridiculous.

Yeah, but time for the people to hear it this way:
"If a business did this, it would be shut down, and the owners would be very lucky to avoid an 8-foot by 10-foot prison cell with a cellmate who says, 'My name is Spike, honey.'"
This is a tactic that reeks of one of the sleaziest examples of corporate misconduct - deceptive "bait and switch" campaigning.

The GOP attorney should just say, "Your Honors, it is up to you to decide whether a candidate can withdraw after the deadline just because he's losing."
And then he should sit down.

Forrester's lawyer is not doing well. I guess Ted Olsen is busy, but Forrester should have made a better choice.

Slippery slope! I said it first!!!!

I think it is clear that the court will decide in favor of the Dumbocraps.

I'm getting the feeling that these justices are not only stupid, but perhaps the definition of political hacks.

It's all over. The jusitices are only interested in setting up a straw man arguement.
IMHO.....
This will end very soon with them ordering a determination on whether or not it would be remotely possible to change the ballots. The determination will be due in a couple of days.
This will make it look like the justices were impartial and are leaving the decision up to someone else.
Then in a couple of days it will be certified by the Attorney General that it is posible, and the justices will order the ballots to be changed.
The strategy has been agreed upon and all the justices are reading from the same playbook.

Justices now looking for a way to write an opinion that limits the slippery slope problem in the future.
