The merger of the UHF Fox station with Oregon's oldest television station, KPTV, is a pure delight. The reason is Brit, Tony, Freddie (the Beetle) and friends. As the PGA commercials say, "These guys are good."
While the local morning news programs and the 10 P.M. news are staffed by the same tired flock of liberal lightweights that infest all the other local newsrooms in Portland broadcasting, the national news feed comes from actual journalists! (snip)

"Fox and Friends" in the mornings may be the best TV show on the air -- anytime, night or day.
To: WaterDragon
It's good to see that Fox has a KPTV audience.

Great. Pass the word to anyone who doesn't.

Get ready - change is on the way to Oregon.
My older sister almost flipped when she started watching FOX News. She had been a CNN person for years. It was so bad, we could not discuss anything political because she didn't have the slightest idea what was going on.
I cannot really explain to you what her reaction was to me the first time she told me about finding FOX News. You would have thought somebody had given her a million dollars.
Just you wait. It's going to be great!! It's amazing what the truth does to people.

Thanks for the ping.
KPTV used to be an independent favorite of mine back in the days when I had cable, but I kicked the local cable operator off of my property years ago. But while I had it, I learned that Chris Craft put some pretty good stuff on their little network of television stations. When I was a kid I watched Ramblin' Rod's cartoon show, and I loved Portland Wrestling with Frank Bonema. The network's marriage with UPN ended that kind of locally produced programming.
KPTV can not be received in Eugene because of the local Dan Rather affilate on adjacent channel 13, but I think we have the same FOX programming on local KLSR ch. 34, and it's not FOX News. It just carries the one hour Sunday morning show (which, of course, I never miss).
