Forrester Statement on Torricelli Withdrawal
(TRENTON, SEPTEMBER 30) - U.S. Senate candidate Doug Forrester tonight issued the following statement:
"On January 15, 2002, I became a candidate for the United States Senate. I entered this race because I believed the people of New Jersey have not been represented well.
"Since January, I have been up and down the state meeting and listening to our decent hardworking fellow citizens. The people of this state yearn to have their reputation and their interests represented well.
"For the past nine months, I have been speaking about issues important to New Jersey voters. Our campaign has been about strengthening our national security, reducing the tax burden on New Jersey families, strengthening retirement security, speeding the cleaning of toxic waste sites, and putting New Jersey first so that we get our fair share of tax dollars from Washington.
"Mr. Torricelli has announced that he no longer wishes to be a candidate for United States Senate. I wish him well.
"Now I understand that some are trying legal maneuvers to disregard the clear letter of the law in a desperate attempt to substitute another candidate on the ballot.
"In 36 days, decency, fairness, and the rule of law will trump this desperate attempt to retain power. The people of New Jersey have had enough of playing politics with the fundamental tenets of democracy..
"The laws of the state of New Jersey do not contain a 'we-think-we're-going-to-lose-so-we-get-to-pick-someone-new' clause.
"What makes America unique is that this was a nation founded on the concept of the rule of law - not the rule of men. No one is above the law; no man is below the law. No man has the right to rewrite the law simply because he is losing in the latest public opinion polls.
"My fellow New Jerseyans, I say enough is enough. It is time once and for all to put the good people of New Jersey first. That is what my campaign has always been about. The decision about who will be our next United States Senator will be made by you, the good people of this great state - not by a powerful few behind a closed door in a smoke-filled room.
"Today marks a new beginning for New Jersey. Tonight we will continue to fight to restore New Jersey's pride. Thank you. And God bless you all."
GO CONSERVATIVES GO!
Good. Maybe now we could put an end to all of this hold up nonsense will all of the nominees.

However, I sure hope he figures out what color his hair should be. It is gray at the scalp and turns brown three inches out. Is he taking after Al Bore's "alpha male" confusion? Not a good sign in personal presentation... Especially for a politician.
Sir SuziQ and I were watching the Torch's disgusting performatnce today (somebody call the Waaaahhhhmulance!)He turned to me and said "God is so good". I just had to laugh; it will be sweet to have some of these supposedly Christian and Catholic Senators lose their jobs this year. Maybe they'll start thinking about what they've bought into all these years. Nahh, won't happen. That's their problem, I'll just be glad to be rid of them in the Senate.

You know, I wouldn't put it passed them. They are soooooo desperate, they'll try
