No, no.
Look at it nationally ... That's the ONLY thing that the national democratic party cares about.
Keeping the Senate.
They'll try two things: Get Toricelli to resign next week within 30 days of the election so Bradley (?) can get appointed ... then delay the election for NJ Senator until the next federal election cycle, two years down the road.
OR ...
Accept this state's loss, and GET THE NEWS MEDIA to focus on how the 'evil" republican's "Stole" the NJ seat by tricks and lies and deceit (again!)... so THEY (the democrats) can protect someone else in the backwash against republicans.....
Probably Carnahan.
No, the national democratic party doesn't give a d**m about any single individual, not any law they need to break.
They, like the Communists, treat those as simple tools to be used, then forgotten.

THey keep postponing the press conference because they can't find a lawyer to give them the loophole. This is a good thing. They will mess this up no doubt and could be good for your state.

FNC legal specialist Neopolitico is claiming that if he waits until Saturday to resign, the gov. gets to cancel the election for ONE YEAR.
The Mary Francis Berry strategy.
To: Robert A. Cook, PE
What the democrats fear above all else is actually LETTING him face the election counts. No question Torch was going to lose to Forrester, but Forrester has not been able to get solidly above 50% even against Torch. This seems to indicate Forrester is a sitting duck to any semi-well known late replacement for Torch. The bottom line of all this is that the Dems probably get to keep a seat they were destined to lose.
The problem seems to be getting the new guy's name on the ballot since the deadline has passed. According to the RNC memo which has been posted, the deadline has been waived once before when a candidate died. The question is -- Can the Dems get a new name on the ballot for Nov. 5?

Judge Napolitano explaining....
If Torch resigns from Senate Sat., Dem Gov, can make appt. and CANCEL SENATE election!!
The Dems are probably trying to work this out with their lawyers...
To: Peach
Ok Napolitano says....if Torch resigns his office today, his appointed replacement will run on ballot as incumbent.
If Torch resigns office after Saturday (within 30 days of election) Napolitano says the Gov can appoint someone and cancel election. But that law has not been tested. And he seems to think it wouldn't fly.

Why does the DNC lust for power OVER the people instead of power OF, BY and FOR the people ? ? ?
To: RobFromGa
The Dimwits are probably counter-offering now and offering him half of Atlantic City It's more likely they'd be making Bradley an offer he can't refuse. Maybe that's why he won't take their calls.

I think RAts got the NJ senate if Da Torch Resigns and McGravy appoints his replacement.....
His replacement will run against Doug...Next Year.....

Sen. Soprano has way too much ego to resign on his own. This mess has the stink of Hillary. She must have some really nasty stuff on Torch. I bet the Beast and McAwful are huddling right now figuring out what laws they need to bend and break.
To: ChadGore
Why does the DNC have such a distain for the people?
Because the democratic-elitists think that the people are all stupid idiots.
To: Fraulein
search on Torch and do your own homework. this thread is not remedial level.
To: Dianna
Yes, for sure, we've moved beyond merely withdrawing from the election...
To: Molly Pitcher
They better not cancel the election.....this will get ugly if McGreevey saves the seat on....an UNTESTED LAW.

"You know the answer to that! Judge Nepolitano on FOX is agreeing with the NRSC email! Says the only legal option is to resign his senate seat." There it is "COURT CHALLENGE" by the Evil Repubs...
Whether they win or lose the DEMS get to put their Election issue (Repubs trying to stop a Fair (hah) Election) on the forefront of the NEWS for this cycle!
To: San Jacinto
Only if he resigns. Then the guv gets to appoint an "incumbent" who would automatically get on the ballot.

Ok Napolitano says....if Torch resigns his office today, his appointed replacement will run on ballot as incumbent. Did he say what gives the incumbent the automatic right to be on the ballot? Mayor Tony Williams here in D.C. had to mount a write-in campaign in the Dem primary because he was kicked off the ballot for not complying with the election laws.

"Not Toricelli is screwing New Jersey voters out of a fair election."GEEZ...correction:
That should be "NOW Toricelli is screwing New Jersey voters out of a fair election."
