Iraq warns of huge numbers of US dead in event of war

BAGHDAD, Sept 28 (AFP) - The United States will suffer "losses they have never sustained for decades", if Iraq is attacked, Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz warned Saturday.

"Iraq will fight," Aziz vowed.

"The assault against Iraq will not be a cakewalk for the Americans but a fierce war during which the United States will suffer losses they have never sustained for decades," he said.

Israel will take advantage of an "American attack against Iraq to carry out its scheme to transfer Palestinians," out of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Aziz predicted.

"During the attack (Israel Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon will be able to achieve what he has not been able to do for the last 10 years," he said.

Washington intended to strike Iraq because of its support for the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation.

"Iraq has not supplied the Palestinians with weapons of mass destruction but money to rebuild houses (destroyed by Israel), to live on and to fight the occupation," Aziz went on.

"This is the weapon of mass destruction that American wants to deprive Iraq of, and not chemical, biological or nuclear weapons because we do not possess them, contrary to their allegations.

"Our determination and our capacity to supply (the Palestinians) the means to resist are the weapons which threaten the Zionist existence in the occupied territories and threaten the imperialist designs."

Aziz, who was addressing a two-day conference on "Arab nationalist thought", added that, "when Iraq ... is destroyed there will no longer be any balance in the region to face up to the Zionist entity."

The deputy prime minister had Friday voiced Iraq's determination to defend itself, but added that Baghdad no longer possessed missiles with a range long enough to hit Israel.

"Iraq will fight," Aziz vowed.

Tarek Aziz will soon be adjusting to his new life in an eight-by-ten cage at Guantanamo Bay.

When we hit Iraq it better be FAST and HARD.

Furthermore, if he unleashes any Bio's, like Smallpox, we should be prepared to burn it up in the air before it spreads using a series of well directed Hydrogen Bombs.

As far as I am concerned they can turn the place into glass. I do not "fear" the wrath of the Muslims seeking the destruction of the infidel.

It's really time to clean this mess before it gets any further down the road.

"Cakewalk" is one of the more aggravating cliches that I am forced to deal with in life. It is assumed by many who use this term that a "cakewalk" is something that is easily accomplished. Taken literally however, a "cakewalk" actually means the opposite. Imagine our soldiers slogging through a gigantic Betsy Crocker cake. Not to mention that frosting that will get all over their gear, further dragging them down and impeding their forward progress.

Cakewalk? Let's certainly hope not.

"Iraq has not supplied the Palestinians with weapons of mass destruction but money to rebuild houses (destroyed by Israel)..."

Iraqi scud missiles fired at Israel did plenty of damage. Did Iraq ever give money to rebuild those houses?

We used to have cakewalks at the church picnic. Some ladies would bake some cakes ans then the men would play a form of musical chairs. They would parade around the chairs with music playing. When the music stoppped every man had to sit in a chair. There was always one chair less than the number of men. This continued until the last man had a chair. He won the cake. Then they would start all over to compete for the next cake.

You'd better take this more seriously. A lot of US soldiers could be trampled by fleeing Iraqis, you know. (-:

Even the Libs and the media didn't really believe it, they just wanted to used it as a scare tactic.

Oh, cripe! How often are these petulant hairballs going to stomp their feet and threaten to bring down the wrath of Allah on us? They couldn't fight a den of diarrhetic Cub Scouts, but they're going to inflict untold casualties on the finest military force in the history of Man??!!

Uh huh. And the White Sox have a good shot at the pennant.

"Huge numbers of us dead" is probably more accurate from the Iraqi experience than "Huge numbers of US dead."

"Cakewalk" actually comes from the early history of jazz. People would organize dances known as "cakewalks" where dancing and jazz music would be the event of the evening. Storyville was the place to be in those days... until the US Navy shut it all down in 1917 :-(

The last war with Iraq was also supposed to be a bloodbath for Americans... back in the days when Iraq had the fourth largest army in the world. They were going to sink their tanks into the sand and pick us stupid Americans off one by one... it would be a big slaughter of us stupid Americans. Now they have the 100-and-something-th largest army in the world with old Russian scrap metal hardware, and we're supposed to be afraid?
