Scott Garrett for CongressI wanted to drop everyone a note regarding where Assemblyman Garrett will be this weekend, and what he will be up to. Please pay special attention to the note after the schedule on an upcoming debate, and how to get tickets.
Saturday:9:00am
Scott will be attending a candidates Breakfast hosted by the Ridgewood GOP, and the Ridgewood Republican Committee with Special Guest Steve Malzberg. The Breakfast will be at Café Wineberrie, 30 Oak Street, Ridgewood, NJ11:00am
Scott is scheduled to be at the Bergenfield Street fest/Sidewalk Sale. The Bergenfield Republican Club has a booth on Washington Ave. Please join Scott as he is further introduced to the people of Ridgewood. Scott will be spending a lot of time in Bergenfield, so if you can make it out to be with Scott during the day, it would be greatly appreciated.
Scott will later be attending the Bloomingdale Pride and
Arts Festival on his way to an event back in Sussex County. The exact time of his arrival and departure at this event will be determined based on how things go in Bergenfield.
Sunday:
12:00pm
Scott will be at the Ridgewood Country Fair on East Ridgewood Avenue. The Ridgewood Republican Club will have a Booth that Scott will meet at. This is another event that will be important to have a crowd with Scott. Word is that Torricelli will be campaigning at this event with our opponent Anne Sumers. It will be interesting to see someone who almost never votes (Anne) out campaigning with someone who apparently is willing to accept all sorts of money to vote. Other Information:
Debate:
On October 7th, Assemblyman Garrett and Ms. Sumers will be participating in a debate at Ramapo College sponsored by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT, AND THEY ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Please, ASAP, go to http://www.cianj.orgto order your tickets. Right near the top of the web page is a link to click on which reads, "5th District Congressional Debate-Click Here for Tickets." There is a limit of two tickets per person and space is limited. We can be assured that Anne's supporters are going to rush to snatch up these tickets so they can stack the deck. I encourage you, even if you aren't sure you can go, to get your two tickets ordered right away. We can find people later to use them if you can't.
Phoning: We have phones running constantly at the Midland Park office and the BCRO. If you can take some time to work a phone bank, please let me know. Phones are running AT LEAST 6:00-9:00 Mon through Thurs, and likely at other times if you are available. We will also have phones running in Warren County, and can always have people phoning in our Newton Office. Please commit to a little or a lot of time each week and we'll get you scheduled.
Letters to The Editor:
If you haven't (or even if you have but it has been awhile) submitted a letter to the editor and would be willing, please respond to this email and I'll get one to you that you can send. This is an important component to the campaign, and all you have to do is send an email.
Scott on Television:
This Sunday New Jersey Network (NJN) will air a debate that was taped today between Scott and his opponent. The debate is on "On the Record" with Michael Aron. The debate will air at 9:00am and will be rebroadcast at 11:00am both this Sunday, the 29th of September. Any questions or comments on the campaign, please feel free to contact me any time.

URGENT ALERT
NJ STATE LEGISLATION
New Jersey Right to Life
49 Alden St
Cranford, NJ 07016
Prepared by: Marie Tasy
Director of Public & Legislative Affairs
P(732) 846-2000; F(732) 846-0080
e-mail:
mtasy@njrtl.org
Please note: To find out the names of your state legislators, call the Office of Legislative Services at 1-800-792-8630 or go the Legislatures web page at
http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp
Oppose AR-1973, Assembly Resolution memorializing President Bush to nominate US Supreme Court Justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade
PLEASE ACT ON THIS ALERT IMMEDIATELY! ACTIVATE YOUR PHONE, FAX AND E-MAIL NETWORKS!!!
This resolution (AR-1973) was put on second reading which means it can be voted on during the next Assembly voting session which is scheduled for Monday, November 18. AR-1973 introduced by pro-abortion Democratic Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (Chair of the State Democratic Committee, District 15) and pro-abortion Democratic Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, District 14) memorializes President Bush to nominate U.S. Supreme Court Justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade. As you know, the Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion for the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason, by any method, including the horrific partial birth abortion procedure.
Analysis
This move by the pro-abortion Democrats is purely political. They want to pit NJ republicans against President Bush and their pro-life base in time for the November 2003 NJ legislative races and the upcoming 2004 Presidential election.
Suggested arguments to oppose AR-1973
When calling your two Assembly members, one or more of the following arguments can be used to urge their opposition. Please be forceful (but polite). Please notify me of any responses you receive from your assembly members on this matter.
1. If your members are Republicans: No Republican member of the NJ Assembly should support this legislation, as it would show disloyalty to your President, the Commander in Chief and Leader of your own party. In addition, Roe v. Wade is bad law and allows abortions to be performed the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason, by any method, including the horrific partial birth abortion procedure.
2. If your Members are Democrats.
It has always been the President of the United State's prerogative to nominate justices to the U. S. Supreme Court. It is absurd for any legislative body to dictate a litmus test to the President of the United States.
Urgent Action needed
Write, call and fax your two Assembly members ASAP. Do not just e-mail. Tell them you expect them to vote no on AR-1973 which memorializes President Bush to nominate justices to uphold Roe v. Wade. Tell them that this is an issue you will be monitoring closely to see how they vote.

From a private e-mail from Fr. Peter West.
Dear Friends,
In order to win in the future we need to accurately access what happened in the past.
Forrester was not as bad as Lautenberg, but we need better choices in the future.
Will Republicans learn from this debacle, or will they keep offering us pro-abortion candidates who are as bad or just a little better than the pro-abortion Democrat?
Give the choice between an extremist pro-abortion Democrat and a slightly less pro-abortion Republican:
1. Some will hold their nose and vote for the candidate who will do the least harm.
2. Some will vote for third party candidates.
3. Some will vote on other issues, since they don't see much difference between the two on abortion.
4. Some will not vote at all.
5. Most people committed to abortion on demand will vote for the pro-abortion Democrat.
The purpose of this email is not to argue which of the first three choices was the best. These things will happen no matter what we think is the best option. I'm just trying to access the situation accurately so we can learn from this and help others to avoid the same mistakes as Forrester.
I think that some people are learning the wrong lesson from this election. They think Forrester was hurt because he supported some restrictions on abortion. They think the New Jerseyans overwhelminly support abortion on demand. I think they're wrong. What if Forrester had gone after Lautenberg
for being an extremist for his support of partial-birth abortion? Things might have turned out differently. Instead Forrester ran the other way.
We need to commit ourselves to getting involved in political races earlier in order to avoid a debacle like this in the future. The whole State Assembly and State Senate will be up for election in June. Find out who
represents you in Trenton. Know how they vote. Register as a Republican.
Contribute money to pro-life candidates and New Jersey Right to Life PAC. Vote in the next Primary Election in June. Let's vote the RINOs(Republicans in Name Only)out of office.
Below is a report from Marie Tasy showing how Forrester lost pro-life support and gained no pro-abortion support with his acceptance of the endorsement by the "republican" Pro-Abortion Coalition.

"republican" Pro-Choice Coalition Endorsement Sinks Forrester
Forrester Now Trails By Double-Digits, While Pro-Life Support Plunges By 10 points
A poll released today by Farleigh Dickinson University shows Forrester now trailing by double-digits, while losing significant ground among Pro-Life voters since accepting an endorsement by the radical Republican Pro-Choice
Coalition.
A previous Fairleigh Dickinson University poll released just days before the fringe RPCC endorsed Forrester, showed 56% of Pro-Life voters supporting Forrester, 32% supporting Lautenberg, and 11% undecided. Since the controversial endorsement from this Anti-Bush group, Forrester has plunged by 10 points among Pro-Life voters to 46%. Pro-Life support for Lautenberg is now at 38%, with 14% undecided.
Forrester's Pro-abortion Strategy Backfires, Gains Nothing Among Pro-abortion Voters, Loses More Support from Women
The RPCC endorsement failed to increase Forrester's support among women or even self-described "pro-choice" voters. Since the endorsement, Forrester remains at 33% among "pro-choice" voters, while Lautenberg is now at 54%.
Among women, Forrester has dropped 2 points since the RPCC endorsement to 32%, while Lautenberg remains high at 49%.
Since RPCC Endorsement, Forrester Trails Lautenberg by Even Wider Margin
Overall, since the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition has endorsed Forrester, he has dropped 4 points to 37% among all voters. Lautenberg maintains a commanding 10-point lead, with 47%. Undecided voters climbed to 14%, and
third party voters are now at 3%, a 2-point jump since the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition endorsement of Forrester.
"Since Forrester has abandoned the pro-life Republican base, his campaign has taken a nose dive," noted Marie Tasy, Director of Public & Legislative Affairs, NJRTL-PAC. "He has gained nothing among pro-choice voters, he has
actually lost support among women and has now alienated pro-life voters in huge numbers." "This foolhardy strategy has proven disastrous for the Forrester campaign."

Show Support for Our Troops, One Town at a Time
Dear Friends,
I urge all of you to call on your local municipal government to hang yellow ribbons on municipally owned buildings and trees as a symbol of support for our troops and a wish for their safe return home.
As you may have heard, the Mayor and Council of Fieldsboro, New Jersey demanded that a yellow ribbon put up by a local resident on the boroughs welcome sign be taken down. The Mayor said that if the city permitted one citizen to put a symbol on municipal property, there would be no place to draw a line, and the city would have to let all citizens put up whatever symbols they want.
I dont think drawing a line on such matters should be all that difficult for the Mayor. But that said, a city government definitely has the right to say what it wants to on municipal property. (In fact, as many of you may know, when I was Mayor, we won a Federal Appeals Court ruling to that effect, after having been sued by the ACLU in connection with a holiday display we placed in front of Jersey Citys City Hall).
Accordingly, I would like to ask that you call the Fieldsboro Mayor Edward Tyler at 609-298-6344 and ask him and the City Council to put up a municipally sponsored yellow ribbon on their welcome sign. And after you do that, Id like to ask you to call your own local Mayor and Council to do the same.
Lets show our troops that we support them and that we hope for their safe return!
- Bret

The United Nations' No-Win War on Terrorism
Is a more powerful United Nations a safeguard against future terrorism?
Is the United Nations a friend in our "war on terrorism: or an organization riddled with terrorists?
What IS the solution to terrorism? A "must see" for those unaware of the "real" nature and history of the United Nations and International terrorism.

To Prevent tyranny, it is vital that we reach out and share this important knowledge with others.
The Hotel is located 4/10ths mile West of Route 287 on the South side of Route 10. Route 10 is exit 39 on Route 287.
Mr. Scholl has two decades of experience researching and studying the United Nations and the internationalist drive for world government. His knowledge is of critical importance to educate all Americans that a more powerful United Nations is not the solution to safeguarding America from future terrorist attacks.
Mr. Alan Scholl's presentation outlines how the United Nations--an organization riddled with terrorists--is not the solution to a war on terrorism. For those unaware of the danger posed by the UN, this revelation brings the UN's true nature into focus.
Alan learned the love of country from his father, Frederick Scholl, who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor as a sailor in 1941. His dad and favorite uncle also participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy in June of 1944. A love of freedom and justice are the Scholl family trademarks. His relatives served in every major national conflict including the War for Independence. He is particularly proud of his great-great-great-great-grandfather, the legendary Swamp Fox, General Francis Marion. General Marion was the inspiration for the lead character in the movie The Patriot. Mr. Scholl is the father of seven.

>>>>Parents who want to send their children to a non-government run school must pay for three educations. They pay property taxes to send their neighbors to the local public school, they pay State Income taxes to pay for the children in the urban areas that are funded by State taxes and then they pay tuition to a school of their choice.<<<<
Four Educations, if it is a Catholic School, Coleus.
The diocese had to break relations with the Catholic Schools due to current scandals. So we have 'tuition' PLUS a "Letter of Understanding". The "Letter of Understanding" is an UNwritten $800+ fee we need to contribute to help subsidize lower income students to attend. These lower income students use to receive grants from the diocese. But that relationship is now null and void. So now the parents must meet it.
