A theory of what Gore, Daschle and kennedy have in mind

Pardon my putting this comment here, but I couldn't think of exactly where it should go.
Think about Gephardt getting advice from Streisand. Then check out the Jessica Lange comments.
Now think about the recent unfathomable speeches from Gore, Daschle and Kennedy.
Some have opined that the purpose of these speeches was to arouse the far left base of the Democrat party so that they would vote.
Would a possible theory be that the Hollywood lefties demanded that these obscene 60s type comments be put into the public discourse before they would give the rats any more money?

I still think that Hillary wing orchestrated Daschle's tirade to overshadow and negate Gore's big speech.

What is going on is that the legislation is going to pass with large majorities. The democrats of the left are posturing for their constituencies before it passes. There is an old saying in Washington: you can't get hurt opposing a bill that passes, and you can't get hurt supporting a bill that doesn't.

Some have opined that the purpose of these speeches was to arouse the far left base of the Democrat party so that they would vote. Could be, but they will arouse an equal or greater number of people to come out and vote AGAINST them, I think.
Gore's reason was to appeal to the base for 2004. The IA and NH primaries are only about 18 months away--a very short time in politics--as far as fund-raising goes.
Gore's speech emboldened other left wingers to put their two cents in.
Notice who's NOT jumping on Gore's bandwagon--such as Lieberman, Kerry, Edwards and other potential 2004 candidates.

I don't agree with the theory. I believe that Algore just wanted to stake out a position for a potential run in 2004. When Dashole (who also is thinking of running in 2004) saw it he figured he'd better get in on it. If you noticed when Dashole made his "speech" and Byrd did and In-no-way did, the next guy to try to get time was - Ta Da - John F. Kerry - who is also running in 2004. "Liveshot" Kerry wasn't going to be left out.
However, Phil Gramm cut him off at the pass and Kerry had to sit down. He was trying a "without objection" move and Gramm objected. Doesn't happen often but it did.
Bottom line, all of these bottom-feeding 2004 wannabe's are jockeying for position. Meanwhile, nothing gets done in the Senate.

You read my mind. And now we have to listen to it on all the weekend talk shows. Probably won't be able to shut them up since they got their snouts on tv. Now just who is playing politics with the war on terror? I didn't hear any of them mention the shady deal Kofi made with Saddam. Nope, They want the UN to tell us what to do. I really like all the disconnect from Kennedy today. I suppose the dems think we should sit around and wait for another hit.

I think Gore was just making a sad attempt to be significant.

I would be content to say Li'l Tommy, hatellary, goreghoul, fatsKennedy, and Byrdbrain have committed political suicide. But watch how the alphabet networks play up the division, aiding and abetting the dumbing turn off of conservative American people while energizing the socialist leaners, the handout dependants, and the PWnik/enviro wacko segments of the dem electorate! The RATS don't pull their swords of deceit just to hear the blades whistle, they have targets in mind and segmenting to do.

Is it possible that ALGORE has decided to play martyr, knowing he will not get the nod for 2004? This way, he's left (no pun intended) lots and lots of wiggle room for the other leftie potential candidates to look like proverbial hawks. Just thinking outloud.
To: HIDEK6
You're probably right on. I watched the idiot lib of libs Dryfus this morning on FOX and Friends praising Streisand for debating. (Was E.D. pandering? Nah.) This definitely going to be a team effort.
To: dalebert
They want the UN to tell us what to do. Exactly. When you break down their arguments logically, it rapidly becomes apparent they are in favor of taking Saddam out, but *only* through the umbrella of UN action.
This is what turned me off permanently about the Democrats nationally. Our national sovereignty is paramount -- we can barely contain the @$$holes in our own country, why in the world would we want to be subordinate to a global governing body? This is apart from the thousands of soldiers who served, fought, and died over the years in order that we remain free.
Notice how the libbies have been doing an end run around our Constitution here in this country for years by finding activist judges and bogus litigation? Well, guess what. They aim to do the same thing on a global level -- Look for lawsuits galore and the weenies running to some global court when they don't get their way here.

Well, you could be right, however, they forgot to include Spielburg and Cruise in on the "talking points." From what I've heard - they're in support of President Bush!

The Jewish Lobby will divide Hollywood Money NOW that WANT IRAQ OUT
To: randita
Correct. This will only ignite the passions of the far left. The moderates will be turned off, and thats not how to win elections.
