[history]
How would America have reacted to Sept. 11 had Al Gore been president?
Or, more to the point, how would Al Gore have reacted to Sept. 11?
Judging by his speech the other day to the Commonwealth Club of California, the answer is: Weakly.
Tentatively.
Maybe not at all.

This is the fellow who, in 1991, courageously defied most of his own party to support the Gulf War. BS, this is the pos who, in 1991, cynically sold his vote to "support" the Gulf War.

Gore is an idiot. If ever a terrorist needed to be taken out, it's Saddam Hussein. The sooner the better!

Former Republican Sen. Alan Simpson was so disturbed by Gore's campaign ad distorting his Gulf War vote that he wrote an article to correct the record. Incidentally, if you are unfamiliar with Senator Simpson, he is universally considered to be a plainspoken person. Even those who disagree with him know he tells the truth, which means you can rely on his version of this event.
Simpson said that the congressional vote to approve then President Bush's decision to send half a million American soldiers to fight against Iraq's Saddam Hussein was of sobering importance. Experts were predicting heavy American casualties. "I can't think of anyone who didn't have a lump in his or her throat as they weighed the situation." The night before the debate, said Simpson, Al Gore stepped in to the Republican cloakroom where Simpson and Senator Dole were discussing the upcoming Gulf War vote. Gore got right to the point. He offered to sell his vote -- to support President Bush -- if the Republicans could guarantee him a prime time speaking slot that would ensure him plenty of coverage in the news cycle. Simpson said that while in his ad Gore says he "broke with his own party to support the Gulf War," it's much closer to the truth to say he broke for the cameras to support the Gulf War. While Gore insists that he is "fighting for us," said Simpson, his Gulf War vote shows he is "usually fighting for Al."

HEY, WATCH WHO YOURE CALLIN A WHORE!
To: Howlin
You are exactly correct. Gore wanted some prime time coverage. His integrity is nonexistant.

Why is it that every time I see, hear or read about Al Gore, I think of priapism?
(Yes, I'm going to run this joke into the ground until every Freeper sees it.)

BS, this is the pos who, in 1991, cynically sold his vote to "support" the Gulf War. Thanks for reminding me of the specifics of gore's behavior back then. Alan Simpson did his best trying to get that story out during the 2000 campaign.

One more photo like that without a barf alert and I'm hitting the Report Abuse button.

Bullshit, it is!
This is the obscenely cravenly cowardly America-hating poofter dickhead and inspiration of poverty-avowed monks to acts of spontaneous generousity -- and money laundering -- who sold his Gulf War vote for 10 seconds before a camera.

Jeff, Sorry, dude.
HIGH VELOCITY PROJECTILE VOMITING ALERT!
(Hey, better late than never.)

Pencil Eraser IQ Algore made a good argument for why the American people should never elect him President. What they witnessed the other night wasn't pretty. If I had to choose, I'd rather have a leftie like Tony Blair as President of this country than a smartass like Algore. At least Tony understands the threat the Free World is up against and why only military action will put an end to Saddam's megalomanical ambitions.

algore, the perfect representative for the democrats. Run algore and let the real you hang out this time. The real America will reject you for the toad you are. Run algore and lead the dems. into the sunset. What a loser man.
To: Joe Boucher
Run algore and let the real you hang out this time. In letting it 'hang out' he may have stepped on it with cleat shoes. Or, as a friend of mine used to say, "Unzip, flop, stomp!" However, there may be a really dark side to all this: Hillary could be laughing all the way to her '04 bid for the White House.
To: Joe Boucher
Why is it that the "blue" regions on the electoral map, those areas that went for Gore in '00, are supposed to be smart and sophisticated and we morons in the south, the heartland, and rural America, are the only folks who could see Gore for what he is? This jerk could not carry his home state.
Send his butt to Germany and let him run for public office there.

"He said it will hurt the war on terror. This from Bill Clinton's veep." IMHO, all one has to do to highlight Al Gore's lack of crediblity on the war on terror is remind folks that he's "Bill Clinton's veep". We should repeat it often.

Gore and Daschle have something in common....they both are so eager to attack Bush that they get tongue tied and say things that argue against their own cases.
When they try to ridicule Bush, they end up looking ridiculous.
Daschle said the decision to end the ABM treaty and to pursue NMD wasn't rocket science.
Now Gore says we shouldn't go to war with Iraq, but should do nationbuilding through consensus like we did after WWII. Gore thinks he can ignore the fact that an Allied Victory came immediately before the establishment of more democratic governments in Germany and Japan.
Get real, Al. Did you grow up in a hotel or something?
