Do you have any medals?
Upon arrival to our spot, the peacenik and chief anti-war veteran demanded that we show them our medals, as if only military service would entitle us to have an opinion. DogRobber replied honestly that he had no medals. Bluesage also has no medals, but Bret has medals (hes a vet) and so does Zip (also a vet). A curious request from the peaceniks, considering they detest the military so much that only those who reject the honor of military service need apply for membership to their ranks.
Six Missourians stood for America this morning, once again, across from the peacenik crowd. With the Air Force birthday and POW/MIA events happening this past week, we were in a reflective mood and discussed issues amongst ourselves. Newbie, Bret, was a bit disconcerted by the half-peace signs directed at us. Must have been that new parasite sign!
As always, we were amazed at the anger and intolerance the peaceful sorts exhibit toward those who disagree with them. This winter when we turn on our heat, drive our comfy cars to work, and enjoy the prosperity that freedom brings, well have to think about their signs and feel sorry for the peaceniks. We know they will be cold, on foot, and extremely unhappy with all America and our military has given to them.
One thing is also clear from this past weeks international events. There will be war with Iraq. President Bush has given clear notice that Iraq must surrender its sovereignty to the UN and America and allow unconditional, intrusive and complete inspections of its nuclear, chemical and bio-weapon capability. Saddam will not comply and we will not be gainsaid our purpose. Ultimately, the peacenik forces will see their protests come to naught and they will be forced to choose between America and her enemies. We know what their choice will be and what ours will be.

The greatest signs come out of Mo. Freepers. Yours is among the top. Love that parasite sign -- so true.
The other one on- you are against whatever they are for- pretty well spells it out also.
Great work -- May I have permission to duplicate it for our FReep. ( I will put your name at the bottom ( with an "as" inserted in the appropriate place.LOL--- Great Name also.

Two blondes are on opposite sides of a lake.
One blonde yells to the other, "How do you get to the other side?"
"You are on the other side," yells the other blonde.

a great deal of the response we get from the locals is rather negative That is too bad, they will get their just due at some point.
We have our share of negatives, some signing to us they want to make love, I just tell them where the Zoo is.

I enjoy helping fellow patriots with getting this thread up and running every Saturday.

Just a little addition - we had a young lady stop by giving us verbal support and wanting info about our time and dates of the FReeps. After Bluesagewoman and Dogrobber explained the reasons, etc, the lady promised to come back and FReep with us next time. Makes you feel good.

So sorry about your locals support. We are fortunate here in Fresno area. We get tremendous support, betcha didn't think there were any conservative areas of California right? :)
The fact that you do it anyway, in spite of the locals, makes you greater heroes in my eyes!
Great job, and thanks for standing with our military!

It amazes me that any American who questions another person's patriotism for never having served in the military is unamerican.
I guess these people do not know that it is our Military, past and present who have protected their FReedoms! You would think having served these Soldier's for Peace would understand why they served!

I agree Amy. The word Patriot means more than just serving in the military too. A dictionary meaning is simply, "One who loves his or her country." You can be patriotic without having served in the military just by loving and honoring your country.
Because we do love our country, we honor our past, present, and future men and women who serve to protect our freedoms. That is the essence of why we stand on street corners showing support for our troops, our Patriotism!

Hi Blue, your comments are worth repeating. It was fun out there this morning. Let's do it again. Bret, I loved your Letter to the Editor. It was to the point.
Blue's post: And yes, the best part is knowing our troops and veterans see this and feel support. HEY THERE TROOPS! HOWDY VETS!

"Whatever they're against this week - I'm for"
Awesome sign! We were talking about this in Fresno this Friday. The peaceniks don't have just one thing that they are against. One week it's us going after the terrorists in Afghanistan. Then they are for creation of a Palestinian state. Then they don't want Iraq to be bombed. Whatever it is they are protesting, theirs is the anti-American stand. These people just hate America.
Well to the peaceniks I say, "Find a "better" country and move there."
Good job, you guys!
