This is the first time I have heard my Congressman getting any national exposure. Rush ridiculed him pretty well.
Mega Dittos!

When I am in Washington, I speak with my staff early in the morning and we discuss the business of the day. At the office, I prepare for hearings before my subcommittees or committees; or for meetings with constituent groups, young people or representatives of government agencies. Conversations with colleagues, and issues that pop up unexpectedly are crammed in between meetings and hearings. Business before the House of Representatives can easily take well into the evening. I try to make both lunch and supper working meals with constituents or organizations. The days are very long, but work is very, very rewarding." -- Congressman Ortiz
What no fingerpainting????

Is it wrong to point out how dumb some of our elected representatives are to the folks back home? Do we send these bozos on purpose to make fun of the govt. or ourselves?
Rush ridiculed this guy pretty good today and insists he will hav a dumb ass of the day honor. Should be like fishing in a barrel.

Rush awarded my Congressman the Katie Couric Award for asking the stupidest question of the day.

"If we attack Iraq, are we going to begin to see suicide bombers within the United States because we don't have the right intelligence?" What's the problem? Retaliation by terrorists after an attack on a Middle Eastern country wouldn't be surprising. Because of Torch, our intelligence isn't all that great, as well. And just because they might retaliate has nothing to do with whether attacking Iraq is the right thing to do. We can't reward terrorists by giving in to their demands.

Is it just me or does Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz look like an adult Eddie Munster?

This idiot doesn't know we've all ready had homicide bombers? He's been off the planet for over a year? His keeper doesn't know he's out?

This idiot doesn't know we've all ready had homicide bombers? He's been off the planet for over a year? His keeper doesn't know he's out? Your words are worth repeating. This Congressman is such an idiot, his handlers make sure he never speaks in political ads they run every two years when he runs for re-election. I have never ever heard of him holding a town meeting in our disrict.
To: Paleo Conservative
disrict = district

I interpreted his statement to include the word "more." Bush has made more glaring accidental verbal ommissions than that.

Hell No!
This Congressman avoids speaking in public as much as possible. He's been in Congress 20 years, and this is the first time I've ever heard of him being mentioned in national media. He rarely ever gives interviews to local broadcast media, probably to avoid showing how ignorant he is.

Is Rush gaining weight? I really admire him for shedding the pounds the way he did. But, unless it's just a bad camera angle, Tuesday's Ditto-Cam teaser sure makes me wonder if El Rushbo is putting it back on (no, I'm not going to buy a membership to find out)...

He must be from the Rio Grande valley of Texas or anyplace there is a dim trail leading North to the Mexican border.

homicide bombersWith all due respect, although the term might at some level satisfy our desire to squelch some hidden sense of P.C. we might find in the generally-accepted term, "suicide bombers," the truth is, anyone who bombs with the intent of killing people (as opposed to merely hurting them, scaring them, or destroying their property) is a homicide bomber. These b*stards are not just "homicide" bombers.
As much as we don't want to focus on the despicable piece of human debris who's doing the act, the simple fact remains that the distinguishing characteristic of the suicide bomber is that he is so crazy with religion or despair or whatever, that he doesn't let losing his own life stop him from doing his evil deed. Thus, it is more difficult to prosecute or deter a suicide bomber than it is to go after your garden-variety homicide bomber, such as Tim McVeigh.
I despise P.C. as much as anyone, and I want to remember the victims instead of the perpetrator. But, "homicide bomber" only tells half the story. After a suicide bombing, no one is on the run, trying to escape justice (except, maybe, his leaders). The suicide bomber saved us the trouble and, for some, the satisfaction; instead, he took the shortcut to finding perfect justice, the type that mankind will never achieve on its own.

Solomons' Texas District 27 extends south to the Rio Grande.
and he doesn't have the right intelligence on any day!
