From the 84 WHAS newsroom...
(Louisville, KY) -- Governor Patton is facing some explosive allegations...he's finding himself at the center of a sex scandal. WHAS 11 TV broke the story Tuesday night, reporting that Tina Conner, a businesswoman and nursing home operator out of Western Kentucky (Clinton), says she had a 2-year affair with the Governor. The allegations go even further though. Conner says that when she tried to break off that relationship, the governor tried to shut down her nursing home. The state found numerous violations at Birchtree Healthcare during an inspection last year. Birchtree has since filed for bankruptcy. Connor goes even further to say she fears for her safety. She tells WHAS 11's Mark Hebert that she believes Governor Patton would, indeed, order a hit on her. Governor Patton says he is "shocked and horrified" by the allegations. He says he died not have sexual relations with Conner. He says the accusations are "acts of desperation" from a nursing home operator whose facility is facing bankruptcy. Conner says Governor Patton first approached her following a political fundraiser for Tom Barlow in 1997. She says a 2-year affair followed. She says she and the governor met several times for encounters at a Louisville hotel on Hurstbourne Lane...always at 7am and sometimes staying as long as five hours. She says the State Police officers working security for the governor would wait outside the hotel. Conner is also a member of the Kentucky State Lottery Board. She was appointed to the board in 2000. Conner says Patton was trying to get her to Louisville more in hopes of more sexual encounters.

Can anyone from Kentucky elaborate on the following?
The current Lt. Gov. Steve Henry (Dem.) is running for Governor. He's also an orthopedic surgeon (still practicing) who has been investigated for Medicare fraud -- billing for procedures not performed.
The feds evidently don't have enough concrete evidence to stand up in criminal court, so they are filing a civil suit to try to recoup some of the "stolen, misappropriated, illegally obtained" funds from Lt. Gov. Henry.
Politics must be particularly dirty in Kentucky....a little shrug of the shoulders and this guy continues to campaign.
Henry is married to the former Miss America, Heather Rene' French (how, I don't know since he's certainly nothing to look at), and their wedding was also investigated for suspicion of using government funds to pay for a portion of it. She is currently a news anchor on a Fox affiliate station in Louisville.
Any more information out there?

This is a very long run-on sentence.
Can any one exhale?
Sheesh!

Boy were they desperate or what?!
Didn't Phyllis George's husband, the former governor of Kentucky, John Brown, do the same thing? Something in the water?

This is too good to be true ! Paul Patton is the embodiment of the dirty, boozing Kentucky Democrat. It is hard to imagine that a state with 2 fine senators like McConnell & Bunning would elect a creep like Patton. Hopefully, Ernie Fletcher or some equally qualified Republican will be the next occupant of the governor's mansion. But in this state. . .I wouldn't hold my breath !

Audit clears me, lt. gov. says
The Associated Press
FRANKFORT Lt. Gov. Steve Henry says an audit shows he didn't try to cheat the federal government out of money and is, instead, owed money for surgeries he performed.
A federal grand jury has been reviewing bills from Dr. Henry's orthopedic surgery practice to reimbursement programs like Medicaid and Medicare. It is investigating whether Dr. Henry actually performed or supervised surgeries for which he billed the government.
Mike Stigler, a certified public accountant hired by Dr. Henry's malpractice insurance company, was hired to audit 200 of Dr. Henry's billings that federal investigators are examining.
Mr. Stigler said that over the past six years, Dr. Henry performed dozens of surgeries without being paid by Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance companies.
Dr. Henry has been the lieutenant governor since 1995, but practices medicine part
time. He has refused a teaching salary from the University of Louisville and is not compensated for seeing more than 1,000 patients per year at Louisville's charity clinic, where he volunteers three hours each Monday to serve uninsured homeless people.
Dr. Henry said the underbillings total about $500,000, but his attorney, Jack Smith, couldn't confirm that number.
I have no idea if that's right, Mr. Smith said Wednesday.
Dr. Henry has maintained he's done nothing wrong. Mr. Smith admits there might have been some billing mistakes.
If you work a lot in the health-care area, you know Medicare and Medicaid billings are a problem with just about anybody across the industry, Mr. Smith said. It's a confused area.
Mr. Smith said he hasn't reviewed Mr. Stigler's audit.
For now, Mr. Smith said, the audit doesn't change the status of the investigation.
Nothing has changed as far as that's concerned, he said.
Dr. Henry was cleared of wrongdoing in October when a state ethics panel announced the findings of an investigation into his wedding to former Miss America Heather French.
Dozens of state employees helped stage the October 2000 wedding, but the panel found no evidence that the employees were coerced into helping or did so on state time.

Close....but read my post more carefully.
The former Miss America is married to the Lt. Governor, Steve Henry, not the Governor now being accused in this story.
The Lt. Gov. is younger, yet still not what would be considered attractive. His attraction must lie somewhere else.
I posted my request with this article, hoping to find some Kentuckians who could supply more information on Steve Henry.

That picture wasn't a reply to you. The article that you requested is in the next post. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the posted article.
I don't even live in Kentucky, but a friend of mine does and she's the one who has asked for my help.
According to her, the Louisville newspapers are pro-Henry and whitewashing the "scandal(s)". Her husband is an orthopedic surgeon, as is Henry. Her husband's present partner was once partner with Henry and had been contacted by the FBI as they investigated the Medicare fraud.
My friend's husband works hard at his profession -- follows all the rules, including all the governmental and insurance companies' red tape, so both are outraged that Henry is getting away with it and may be the next Governor.

Politics must be particularly dirty in Kentucky Puh-leese. Louisiana can claim more dirty politians over any three-year-period in it's history than Kentucky can claim since admission to the Union.
It was my one solace, growing up in Mississippi as I did. No matter how much shame they brought us, at least our politicians weren't as crooked as Louisiana's.
No discussion around the water cooler of the parallels to Clinton should leave out Juanita Brodderick, her nursing home, and the fact that CLINTON RAPED HER AND HAS NEVER DENIED IT.

No party affiliation mentioned. Must be a dimocrat? That's the secret code in today's "non-biased" media.
