If he is being given the appropriate dose of Versed iv, he is not really awake nor asleep. He will be in a twi light zone, babbling all that he knows. When he awakens, he will not remember even getting the Versed IV, the questions or his answers. He will just feel nice and relaxed!Abu Zubaidah is familiar with the wonders of Versed. He told his questioners all about it, among other things.
Another headline I would love to see:

Versed is a hypnotic drug, which induces a dreamlikie state. It is used in various painful procedures, wherein the patient must remain awake and somewhat coherent. After the procedure, the patient "awakens" as the drug wears off. While under the drug, patients can actually feel pain, but they forget about it after it wears off.
Commonly given during colonoscopies (fitting in this circumstance), molar extractions and other procedures. I had it given to me during a heart zapping. Didn't remember a thing, but I talked to the doc throughout the process.
Anybody with more precise knowledge feel free to chime in.

I think they gave me that stuff while I underwent a colonoscopy and while they scoped my esophagus (hopefully they didn't use the same scope!!! ;))...The nurses nicknamed it "twilight". You're there but not there. I was awake the whole time (2 hours) but it seemed like it lasted 5 minutes. I have vague memories of the whole thing and despite what was going on, I didn't care...they could have been sawing off my arm and I wouldn't have cared. I do remember that evertime they asked me do something I would do it. Interesting stuff...I was hazy the rest of the day. It was quite relaxing, except for the medical procedures being applied to me.

Versed, midazolam, better known as liquid amnesia! Throw a little morephine in with it, and there is no pain. Just an urge to talk without any inhibitions!

Gosh, such good fortune for the U.S. Could it have anything to do with the elections next month -- in Pakistan?
(
Musharraf regime 'is rigging election')
I would guess such good fortune could be limitied in the future after the election, unless some other benefits can be arranged.
To: flamefront
Oh, I think Musharraf has seen enough intel data showing that if he wants to stay alive, he will have to keep flushing out the al Qaeda cRats from Pakistan or just killing them.
When he hands them over, I'm sure that the "rewards" will be enough for him to continue.

Straight to GITMO Baby! No trip to Damascus for debriefing?
To: Dog Gone
Why, just look at how those awful U.S. servicemen are mistreating that poor, innocent unjustly-held man!
His civil rights are being violated!
Where's the outrage???
Free Mumia!!

"Makes you wonder how many times they and their fellow Islamakazi Yemenis who hate America, living in Buff, voted for the Hilldebeast in 2000?"BUMP!
To: Dog
Why would we flame you? Because you got the info from CNN? Some of us don't have a choice but CNN. Some (backward) cable companies don't carry Fox News yet...and sometimes, when you're out somewhere else - like the local pub - the SOMEWHERE ELSE might not carry Fox News.

"Could it have anything to do with the elections next month -- in Pakistan? ...I would guess such good fortune could be limitied in the future after the election, unless some other benefits can be arranged."It doesn't matter if Pakistan gave us these perps for election reasons. We'll take care of any post election problems, as they come, AFTER the election.
Should be a short trial: He told all about it in a tv interview.

Midazolam Hydrochloride (Versed)
Actions: Short acting benzodiazepine. CNS depressant with sedative, muscle relaxant, anticonvulsant, and amnesiac effects. Estimated to be 3-4 times as potent as diazepam. Intensifies activity of gamma-aminobenzoic acid (GABA), a major inhibitory neurotransmitter of the brain. This acts to calm the patient, relaxes skeletal muscles, blocks memory, prevents feeling pain, but enables them to follow commands.

The use of Versed with an irate/hostile al Qaeda thug, calms the thug, relaxes skeletal muscles, blocks memory, prevents feeling pain, but enables them to follow commands.
I don't see any down side, do you?

The guy below hates racial profiling when used to round up al Qaeda cRats:
Ramiz Dim al-Shi$ says, "MAKE FUN OF MY PINK BONNET, AND I CUT YOUR THROATS!"
