FLORIDA "TERROR SCARE" DETAINEES TO REFUTE CHARGES Medical students deny threats, running through toll booth, being "uncooperative"
WHAT: On Sunday, September 15, the Florida office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) will hold a news conference at which the three Muslim medical students detained during Friday's "terror scare" in that state will refute charges that they perpetrated a "hoax," ran through a toll booth or were "uncooperative" with authorities.
The men were stopped after a restaurant patron in Georgia said she hear them making "alarming" comments about the 9/11 attacks and about a possible future terrorist attack. They were released without charge after being detained for 17 hours. Since their release, CAIR-FL assisted the men in obtaining legal representation. Their attorneys will also attend the news conference.
"We are very concerned that mere suspicions, possibly based on prejudice and stereotyping, could so damage the lives and livelihood of hard-working young people whose only wish is to defend their reputations and complete their medical education," said CAIR-FL Executive Director Altaf Ali.
Ali added that the rising tide of anti-Muslim rhetoric in our society can trigger discrimination by a bigoted minority. He said that just this weekend, a mosque under construction in Northern Virginia was attacked by vandals.

That he is the only one that can verify her story, he was at the table wit her.
I also said that maybe their lawyer told them to not speak about the incident until further notice.
I also said that perhaps she was concerned about his welfare, but again that he was the one that could back up her story.
At that point, I let it go, because the miami herald story came out, and as far as I am concerned, it vindicated her. If suits are forthcoming, then we just may hear from her son. I also said it was possible that he didn't want her to call authorities because he thought the guys were joking.
That appears to be the ONE thing the media hasn't told!

Passive Agressive Terror...make loud generalized comments...alluded threats...give hints...innuendo...panic surrounding civilians...and when you get arrested whine like hell about "your rights"...and get your lawyers...from CAIRN involved and their public relations firm...then sue..for your right to free speech...or claim "racial harrassment" Shutting down commerce...causing fear or panic....commercial airplanes turned back...traffic jams..emergency service vehicles delayed....impact the economy and make the people afraid.. Then sit around with your shiit eating grins... They should be tried just like anyother terrorist...make an example out of them...and do the same every time one of these middle eastern types pull their "Shiite"
Hey, the Cowboys are playing. Gotta have some perspective, you know. If we start putting terror hoaxsters (or panicky nurses, as the case may be) before football, "the terrorists will have won"TM.
If this is true, the case becomes more cloudy, especially if Eunice filed a police report, which she probably did. It's then considered public record, and open to media inspection. She still didn't HAVE to do an interview, but it's understandable why she would have.
Possibly for the same reason they didn't show the vitriolic press conference by the fun-loving Muslim med students' families on Friday, while CNN gleefully aired it -- maybe they are being responsible journalists by not inflaming the passions of their viewers, who have had quite enough of the CAIR "Muslims are always innocent" propaganda.
Whatever the facts of this case, Muslim terrorists are sticking to the flypaper in abundance during the past few days -- and CAIR needs a case where they can cry "discrimination" to muddy the waters and gain sympathy in the liberal media.
I don't think Fox has any obligation to facilitate them.
I'm not particularly concerned about it. People are getting used to seeing CAIR complaining about discrimination and racial profiling and I believe most Americans would like to see more, not less profiling. Wouldnt be surprised they see a group of arabs and mentally tune out. Besides I think most people have tuned it out this weekend anyway. They are not news junkies like us.
The CNN poll (80% saying police did not over react in FL) suggests that most Americans are willing to make an occasional mistake to avoid another terrorist attack. And if someone has to be inconvenienced for a few hours, well thats better than another 3000 dead. I think other than people who wanted to travel on I-75 Friday and couldnt, I think most Americans felt it was worthwhile to stop these guys and not take any chances.
They report the news. What is newsworthy about their news conference. Hasnt all this stuff been reported before. Look for it on C-SPAN with all the other fruits and nuts but why should FOX give CAIR an open mike. About the only person that's almost guaranteed coverage live is President Bush. If something newsworthy comes of it, it may appear on their news broadcast. The cable news channels are not there to take us live to every event. That's not their intent.
