Bill Simon is on Sean Hannity right now
The Sean Hannity Show | 9/13/00

Bill Simon, the GOP candidate for governor in CA, is on Hannity right now. He's just now finished the first scheduled segment, but he's agreed to stay on for the next segment.

They've been talking about the bill that would give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants and the tossed fraud verdict.

Right now, there's a caller talking to him about the power crisis and the Davis-backed bonds.

He's also talked about the flaws in the driver's-licenses-for-illegals bill.

Simon stated that he would not sign the bill RIGHT NOW. Not sure why he is hedging but Sean is like a dog with a bone on the issue and not really going to address anything else. I turned it off.

He is hedging because in the left-wing state of cal, you have to sometimes hedge. He wouldn't sign it, but he is doing well with latino's and doesn't want to rock the boat.

Hannity spent the first 18 minutes of his show talking about himself, his book, the "Hannitizing of America tour", where his book was on Amazon.com etc. Then he has the nerve to say that with Clintoon it is "all about him". Hannity is really getting irritating. I'll be glad when he forgets about his book and goes back to what he does best, THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW POINT.

All that having been said, The interview with Simon was interesting.

Hannity is a little full of himself, Simon's a very good guy - I have been impressed with him - not his political skills but with him as a person.

Too bad Sean made the interview all about HIS opinion on the issue. I hope Simon does not go on Sean's show again.

Hannity and Dennis Rodman are alike. They have both
written one more book than they have read.

Fact: Latinos here LEGALLY do not have a problem with the expulsion the ILLEGALS. So here is a candidate that is running against the most corrupt gov in America & all he has to do is attack illegals & cut the state gov in order to balance the budget & he CAN"T. These elites within this "Two-Party Cartel" will ruin this country beyond any Saddam.......THE ENEMY IS WITHIN..... from the PC crowd to the socialists/communist in office to the playcaters such as this guy who WON"T protect our freedom & sovereignity. A pox on all of them however they are the ones that will be in the bunkers while us sheeple take the hits.

I agree. Simon isn't a politician, but I don't want another politician. We had politicians with both Gray Davis and liberal Republican Pete Wilson. Look where Gray Davis has gotten us !?!?!

Simon is more like George W. He is from a political family, but wasn't overtly political himself, just running the family business, working in the private sector, and then something happens in their life and they believe they could do more good as Governor. George W. was great for Texas, and he is a wonderful president for the most part. Simon will be great for California, and it will no longer be business as usual.

I think the most important thing about Simon to remember is that he is a moral and ethical man. We might not agree with him 100% of the time on every issue, but I believe that he is thoughtful and reasoned and does consider the moral and ethical implications of his decisions. He is not a "ME FIRST" person, as shown through his charities.

Go Simon!

I very much like your analogy and couldn't agree with you more. Simon's father was a GIANT.

No, he is hedging because he has no principles which he can be judged.

I like Simon's father more than Bush, Jr's father (in terms of ideology).

Second the motion. Simon's father was capable, brilliant, and on top of everything else virtually a saint. Like his father Bill Simon is someone you can basically trust to do the right thing.

all he has to do...

All of that is easier said than done. If a GOP candidate talks about illegal immigrants, no matter how much legal residents might agree with him, he'll be attacked by the Demediacrat Party as a racist. And it won't matter how eloquent his arguments are, he simply won't he allowed to voice his opinion. There are certain issues in CA politics that Republicans have learned to avoid. Illegal immigration is one of them. Given how well Prop. 187 did in the Latino community, you'd think that Republicans would feel safe on that issue. But that's not the case. The Demedias are too good at demagoguing the issue. They've proven since 187 that they can con the Latino electorate into thinking that they disagree with the GOP just long enough win an election.

Give me a break, he has integrity and convictions, sometimes those alone don't win the election.

From Cindy Simon - received by email today:

“Anniversary Thoughts”

Last week, I was proud and honored to say I have been married to Bill Simon Jr. for 16 years. We were married on a rainy day in Oak Park Illinois, in a huge church, surrounded by family and friends from all walks of life. We had our reception in a wedding hall in nearby Oak Brook. Bill's only involvement in the planning process was making a request for "potatoes au gratin" at dinner.

We had a video man recording people's thoughts... my 85-year-old grandmother talked for 15 minutes until having to be literally dragged away, and my mother wouldn't stop badgering the bandleader until he let her perform the song "Hello Dolly" (her name). It was the best day of my life.

I am blessed to call Bill my husband. He is a smart, kind, driven, generous and thoughtful man. He has a huge heart that has no bounds. He is a dad who loves to build sandcastles and surf with his kids. His idea of a great night out is to call up the neighbors and invite them over for cheeseburgers on the grill. He has never tried to butt in and take over my job as "caller" for the Bingo games. He has encouraged me to seek my dreams no matter what they may be... and he pushes me when I feel I'm not sure I can do it.

This is the man I know, yet rarely read about. This man will work night and day for all of you who have shown your confidence and faith in him. To all of you out there in the campaign trenches who stay up late into the night and then turn around and get in early in the morning - Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And to Bill - Loads of Love and here is to another 116 years!!!!
