President Bush Outlines Saddam Hussein's "Cruelties" and "Deceptions"

President Bush spoke before the United Nations and outlined Saddam Hussein's long record of defiance and deceit and the continuing threat posed by his outlaw regime. Over a decade ago the Iraqi dictator agreed to end his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and numerous other sanctions. On every account Saddam Hussein has broken his promises to the United States and to the world - jeopardizing peace and stability for every nation.

In his words to the United Nations, President Bush made clear the impending danger that exists while Saddam Hussein is still in power:

"Above all, our principles and our security are challenged today by outlaw groups and regimes that accept no law of morality and have no limit to their violent ambitions. In the attacks on America a year ago, we saw the destructive intentions of our enemies. This threat hides within many nations, including my own. In cells and camps, terrorists are plotting further destruction, and building new bases for their war against civilization. And our greatest fear is that terrorists will find a shortcut to their mad ambitions when an outlaw regime supplies them with the technologies to kill on a massive scale.

"In one place - in one regime - we find all these dangers, in their most lethal and aggressive forms, exactly the kind of aggressive threat the United Nations was born to confront.

"Twelve years ago, Iraq invaded Kuwait without provocation. And the regime's forces were poised to continue their march to seize other countries and their resources. Had Saddam Hussein been appeased instead of stopped, he would have endangered the peace and stability of the world. Yet this aggression was stopped - by the might of coalition forces and the will of the United Nations.

"To suspend hostilities, to spare himself, Iraq's dictator accepted a series of commitments. The terms were clear, to him and to all. And he agreed to prove he is complying with every one of those obligations.

"He has proven instead only his contempt for the United Nations, and for all his pledges. By breaking every pledge - by his deceptions, and by his cruelties - Saddam Hussein has made the case against himself."

I am not sure which one it was but does it cause your icons to move all over the place and eventually your computer doesn't boot all the way?

That would be the Magistr... virus. Had a run in with that one myself. McAfee actually allowed me to open that one for some reason????? Anyway it was kindof a hoot chasing those icons all over the desktop......for a while. As I recall, McAfee tracked down all the infected files as they were "deposited" on my computinmachine, so I was able to dispose of 'em for the most part. It took a little more work to clean up the registry entries it made, but I finally subdued the beast. BTW, that same virus got into a daughter's computer and pretty much wrecked the thing. They ended up replacing hard drive and O/S. It was a booger!

It is horrible when the computer doesn't work right!

It's like being deaf, dumb, & blind... talk radio isn't a bad substitute, but it's so slow I find myself making "shooing" gestures at the speaker to get the hosts and listeners to get to the point!

I've contacted my Congressional representatives, and donated to the Republican candidates. Really, we have to give the President a Republican majority in Congress~

I am on the Coleman team. Wellstone is hurt either way he votes, which is why a vote is critical. Right now Coleman is up 44-40 but it is very early. Wellstone is about to play the Social Security scare card next.

Nelson is just carrying water for Daschle, since he is not up again until 2006. Let him feel the heat anyway.

Good news re " Coleman is up 44-40! Hopefully, Wellstone will continue to shoot himself in the foot with his anti American utterances. I don't think that SS Bravo Sierra will fly very well this year.

Keep up the good work. Wellstone is a classic Rat POS that past due for flushing down into the Rat septic tank.

Not to nitpik, but is "contempt for the UN" a bad thing?
