WWE 'Smackdown' to Feature Homosexual Wedding
TV Guide ^ | September 9, 2002 | Michael Ausiello

WE'VE COME A LONG WAY: Thursday's episode of UPN's WWE Smackdown will feature a gay wedding between tag-team he-men Billy and Chuck. According to Variety, Smackdown writers — who have gradually set the stage for the nuptials over the past few months by scripting long hugs between Billy and Chuck after a victory — will have the duo exchange vows right before they go at it against a pair of rivals. A show rep, however, reminds us that Billy and Chuck's alter egos — Monty Sopp and Chuck Palumbo — are strictly hetero in real life. Phew!

Saturday Night Live's superheroes, "The Ambiguously Gay Duo," ought to sue. ;-)

Well he used to be known as Bad Ass Billy Gunn and he wore pink underwear wrestling garb. Who didn't see that coming?

The interesting thing is that World Wrestling has always been viewed as entertainment for kids and, for lack of better term, "rednecks." If that really is their core audience the producers may have just killed their golden goose, especially when you consider that rumors of pro wrestlers being a bunch of "sissies" helped kill the "sport" for years back in the 1960s.

What ever happened to: "train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins, brother"?

Wrestling used to be funny entertainment, but it degraded into something really sick and I no longer regularly watch. When we have kids, no way will they watch this stuff. Example: flipping channels last night I ran across WWE "RAW" and saw two women being drop kicked, thrown around the ring, etc. by a pair of 3-400lb males. I recognize that this was probably staged, but I wasn't brought up to treat ANY woman that way. It's really sick. To think adults write those scripts...

After the BA Billy Gunn, he wanted to simply be known as "Mr. @ss", well now he will.

that being said, I would be very surprised if the "wedding" actually goes through.

Well, they're doing it to get a rise out of the audience and it looks like it's working.

Those women being thrown around were known as the "Hot Lesbians". No I'm being 100% serious they were supposed to perform Hot Lesbian Action but then the two Samoans came and beat the snot out of them. Very strange, huh?

And let's not forget the incredibly disturbing "stink butt" move that closes each Rishiki (sp?) match.

"I recognize that this was probably staged"

I'm amazed you are actually able to operate a computer enough to register and post on this forum. It is my wish that all wrestling fans over the age of 10 disappear from the face of the earth. Just imagine the positive change in the world if the world average IQ goes up 30 points in one instance.

Nothing makes me more furious than "Pro Westling" fans who take it so seriously. Well, maybe Deomcrats who defend their hopeless positions with "Well, because - Uhh I don't know, you present a good argument, but I'm not going to change my mind because Republicans positions are evil" Brainwashed idiots. Yes, it has happened more than once in my life.
