The interesting thing is that World Wrestling has always been viewed as entertainment for kids and, for lack of better term, "rednecks." If that really is their core audience the producers may have just killed their golden goose, especially when you consider that rumors of pro wrestlers being a bunch of "sissies" helped kill the "sport" for years back in the 1960s.

A local radio talk host was discussing this this morning. He observed that the gay groups are happy when they really should be outraged --> this is all about that 'redneck' audience sitting on the couch screaming 'kill that faggot!' and 'bash that wussy homo!' He thinks it was a brilliant move on the producer's part and will appeal to that audience.
