LIBERTARIAN CANDIDATE SPITS IN FACE OF TALK SHOW HOST ON THE AIR

The evening started innocently enough for Brian Whitman, Sunday evening talk show host on KABC in Los Angeles.

He had on his show four minor candidates running for governor of California. Three were on the phone and the fourth, Libertarian candidate Gary Copeland, was in studio.

The conversation eventually turned to illegal immigration. Copeland did not like Whitman's position and called him a racist. Although Whitman kept trying to answer, Copeland kept talking over him and would not let him speak.

Just as Whitman puts callers in "timeout" on his show when they won't let him have his say, he told the engineer to cut off Copeland's microphone. Copeland became incensed and started packing his things to leave the studio.

Then, in great FReeper tradition, Whitman told Copeland not to let the door hit his ass on the way out. He also called Copeland a lunatic.

Then the rain came. Copeland walked over to Whitman and spit in his face. Whitman couldn't believe it. Two others on the KABC staff couldn't believe it.

Whitman had the station call the police and is considering filing assault charges.

Poor Copeland. He may no longer be the Libertarian candidate for governor. An official high ranking representative of the party called in to Whitman and told him that Copeland would be receiving no more backing and they were going to see what they could do to take him off the ballot.

Now that was classic talk radio. The unbelievable happened. A candidate for governor actually showed himself to be a bigger jackass than Gray Davis. Davis has spit on the law but never on Whitman, at least not yet. Brian, get him in studio.

Backwards. You were attempting to misrepresent the facts.

It was noted that, "Their 1998 candidate for Governor of California has fled to Canada after a couple of drug convictions."

You disingenuously replied, "A bit misinformed, aren't you? Steve Kubby is suffering from Adrenal Cancer, and requires cannabis..."

Kubby's drug convictions were not for "cannabis."

Almost all of world history is a history of rule by authoritarians, largely because free people allow their societies to become militarily weak, and are conquered. Armed republics, like Switzerland and the US remain strong, the unarmed, both militarily and morally, weak sisters, like the Europeans, who are willing to give their enemies the 'right' to infiltrate and destroy their societies are doomed.

Why would I debate you on the 2nd Amendment? Unfortunately, those who would debate you are not going to be swayed from their opinion that there need to be more gun laws and restrictions on gun ownership.

Our society has been infiltrated by an even worse threat. Ourselves. The majority of the poeple in this country have surrendered to and now embrace authoritarianism. The left loves wealth redistribution by socialism. The right loves financial fascism and the usurpation of individual rights.

The enemy is us, and many of the worst offenders are on this site forever apologising for intrusive government under the banner of conservatism and fake moralism.

I think most all conservatives have a small "l" libertarian streak in them. Most conservatives however could never become large Ls because the large Ls are their worst own enemy.

Because the vast majority ARE children. Those that are not have the emotional development of teenagers. The libertarian mindset is the same mindset of every post-pubescent teenager in the world boiled down to "YOU AIN'T THE BOSS OF ME". Good assesment. Before I came to FR, I considered myself to be sympathetic to the libertarian point of view. Plenty of self-proclaimed libertarian posters cured me of that right quick!

The judge gave Kubby three years probation and a $2,700 fine, and even allowed him to continue smoking marijuana.

Kubby defied the judge's orders, announcing that he would not "pay a dollar's fine." After he was ordered jailed for violating his probation by leaving the area without notice, Kubby fled to Canada.
