AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Candidate credibility was at issue Thursday as Republican gubernatorial nominee Peter Cianchette took rival John Baldacci to task for television ads depicting the Democrat as fiscally frugal.
The 30-second ads say Baldacci will save taxpayers money and back up the claim by stating his congressional office is run so well that Baldacci has returned $250,000 to the U.S. Treasury.
