In Kandahar, at the clinic. The sign reads: 'Women's entrance'. When Saddam does the full Mussolini from a Baghdad lamppost, can we pose him in a burqa for posterity?

Arabs celebrate attacks against the United States Bouquets of daisy-cutters for the celebrators.
Let's roll.

The pic of the Tajik parents and baby is reminiscent of artistic depictions of the Holy Family on its flight to Egypt. It IS a very charming photo and shows some humanity in a not too charming place.

Fantastic!!!!!! ..... as usual.
Thank you for doing this. I know it takes a lot of time to post all the pics but it is greatly appreciated by many. There are so many things we learn from these threads that we'll never see in the media!

Since a picture speaks a thousand words, you, sir, have spoken volumes with this post. Remarkable images, thank you.

Wonderful shots. Thank you so much for your efforts to bring so many fabulous and informative shots to us.
I especially loved the painting of the mosque! Terrific. But am sorry about the Burkas....hope the women, themselves, want to wear them out of a certain comfort and tradition, not because the UN or current government are forcing them to do so.

at least 110 Pakistani Taliban prisoners released to Pakistan today My understanding is that if they are truly Pakistani, they are not likely to be Tallibunnies, but rather Al Qaida. Talliban were/are almost all Afghans of various tribes, mostly southern ones, from near the Pak border.

When Saddam does the full Mussolini from a Baghdad lamppost, can we pose him in a burqa for posterity? Then we can sell pictures of the event to raise money for the next round against the terrorists and those who support them. I know I'd pay good money for a video clip, or even a still photo of that event. The pictures, at least the stills, can also be dropped around the Jihadist areas to "encourage the others".

Thanks again for a cool photo essay! The one SF guy in the white cap- he's loaded up for serious fun- I counted at least four ammo pouches, at least 390 rounds of 5.56 plus whatever pistol ammo and grenades he's carrying. A standard combat load for a normal infantryman (sans extra pouches) is 210 rounds.

Thanks Dio!
