As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together -- and if their perches are in private clubs, they have a legal right to do so. That doesn't mean the prevailing winds of social change can't ruffle their feathers. Such is the case with the male members of the Augusta National Golf Club, which has hosted the Masters tournament since 1934.

Nice phrase- but I'll bet that there is a lot more "testosterone" in the LPGA than there is at Augusta, if you know what I mean, and I think you do!

I wonder if these people (the NCWO and the Post-Gazette) also think there should be no women's clubs or no women's schools. Do they think that no women's or men's clubs have the moral right to hold an event that might become of wide interest?

Ha! Augusta won't have x42 as a member, any more than the clubs in Westchester County have accepted him (which is to say, not at all). Clinton is the OJ of politics, as far as private golf clubs are concerned.

Don't you understand? Its only "unfair" for white males to exclude certain people or have exclusive clubs. "Historical predjudice" makes it fair for all other groups to exclude.(/sarcasm)

Good point. But in many cases, these special interest groups do not even want to associate with "you", just the fruits of your labor. Many of those who have challenged "gender discrimination" or "racial discrimination" by private individuals or private groups didn't do it because they wanted to associate with a bunch of "old white males", they did it out of malicious hate and because they perceived "you" getting some benefit that they couldn't.

I think men's and women's only clubs should be brought back. Part of the reason of high divorce rates is that husbands cannot get away from their wives (and vice versa) in peace for a few hours. Men need "time with the guys" and women need "outings with the girls"
