OXNARD, Calif. (AP) - Animal cruelty charges were filed against an Oxnard man who allegedly tortured and dissected his 6-year-old daughter's guinea pig because he thought it was a camera-equipped robot placed in his home by government agents.
Benny Zavala, 34, was ordered to stand trial Oct. 1 on two counts of felony animal cruelty and one count of being under the influence of methamphetamine, Deputy District Attorney Tom Connors said.

Benny could be a FReeper.
Certainly one of those misfits over at LibertyPost.org.

The neighbor contacted mental health officials, who called police. Why can't these busybodies just learn to mind their own business, instead of poking their noses into the mental health problems of anti-government animal torturers?

What a maroon.
Everyone knows that the animalks have a built in mechanism that when tortured they send out brainwaves to cloak the camear from your sight.
Sheesh....

See, they WERE spying on him ALL THE TIME!
Just because your paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.
I wonder if those Gerbil cam things work the same way?
The thing I can't figure out is where do they put the light bar.

"Benny Zavala, 34, was ordered to stand trial Oct. 1 on two counts of felony animal cruelty and one count of being under the influence of methamphetamine, Deputy District Attorney Tom Connors said." ...Connors later added, "the prosecution has copious amounts of covert surveillance video which provide clear evidence of Zavala's guilt..."

Heck, "even the paranoid have real enemies", like the neighbor. Jeez, given the proliferation of cameras all
over the place, AND X10 ads a poppin' too, I really don't think its that far fetched.
Hope the rodent was at least dead or given a last cigarette.
Then again, there's that picture of a guy that was so affected by angel dust, he sliced the flesh off his face
and fed it to his dog.

Well, at least he didn't find the goldfish-cam.

"Gimme that pig, kid! Here, hold muh tinfoil."

While I do condone the torture of guinea pig's... the real question for a free republic should be...Why are things so amuck that you could get 3 years in prison(at tax payer expense) for doing it?

"While I do condone the torture of guinea pig's... the real question for a free republic should be...Why are things so amuck that you could get 3 years in prison(at tax payer expense) for doing it?"But then again, this comes from a state where certain sexual fetishes call for inserting one of these animals into your partner (where things normally exit) for pleasure - and that's NOT A CRIME???? That shows just how far off the scale things have gotten there.

Those camera bearing house rodents can't see you if you wear the tinfoil overalls. This guy deserves his fate, he shouldn't have been out of uniform.

What if he had just wrapped the guinea pig in tinfoil?
The little robot would not have had the ability to record, so wrapping in tinfoil would have stopped any transmissions.

Hehehe. I disconnect my cheapo for that reason. I think the current RatShack flyer has wireless device detector.
Guess I'll have to check out the price of paranoia...
I remember a magazine, Fortune maybe, tried some promotion in which the issue was "customized" to the extent that
they threw some personal information in for an ad campaign. Freaked a lot of people out.
Then there was in inbound telemarketing company that was overwhelmed with calls during a tv ad campaign. They
happened to be one of the first using Calling Party Id, so they called the people back when the agents became
available. "We know you tried to call and couldn't get through..." Freaked those lucky people out too.
