This Quorn stuff sounds like what they put in Arbys sandwiches. Once upon a time, Arbys had REAL Roast Beef (RB) in their sandwiches and they were TERRIFIC. Then one day one of their cost accountants got the "bright" idea of adding some sort of meat substitute in the sandwiches as a cost saver. The result is some sort of chemical compound that looks a bit like roast beef but doesn't taste like it at all.

I'll try anything CSPI hates. It's hard to imagine a higher recommendation.

Fusarium spp is a fungus that can produce some severe aflatoxins that cause liver failure, vasoconstriction of the the peripheral veins, and in some cases spongiform encephalopathy. I know that the different species are supposed to be safe but it will be a long time watching the guinea pigs before you get me to eat the stuff.
