For the first time since 1974, the Senate has failed to pass a budget resolution. The President put forward and the House passed a budget but Senator Daschle and the Democrat controlled Senate have failed to keep their promise.
Without a budget resolution Democrat Senators, such as Barbara Milkuski (D-MD), feel that they now have carte blanche to spend your money. As Chairman of the appropriations subcommittee that funds the departments of Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development, she is steering hundreds of millions of federal dollars to states represented by eight of the most vulnerable Democrat lawmakers up for reelection this fall.
Tell Senate Democrats that when they return from August recess they should show some fiscal discipline and pass a budget resolution.
