[history]
I was a preacher's kid, so Sundays were church, no doubt about that. The church was the center of our lives. In segregated black Birmingham of the late 1950s and early 1960s, the church was not just a place of worship. It was the place where families gathered; it was the social center of the community, too.

How incredibly refreshing to have adults in charge of the Executive branch again.
Now only if the same could happen to the Legislative branch...

Great Post! I think Condi Rice has some great potential in front of her, VP or maybe POTUSA?
Also have to bump this for our fellow Presbyterian's out there. Wonder if that wojld be a Reformed Presbyterian Church she is going to?
It's nice to see people with real faith helping to guide our country.

She is pro-choice, but I do like her anyway. National Pres. is PCUSA IIRC (A person I met online attended the church). Condi also spoke at the PCUSA General Assembly.
However, from what I recall, National Pres. is pretty Orthodox and the pastor is definitely Reformed.

Ping!

I love Condi, the woman is smart, good looking and a conservative. I think she has a way with things, and I believe that indeed she could be the President someday.
Wouldn't that be something, the first female black President or Vice President and she would be a republican. That would put the demoncrat panties in a bunch now wouldn't it?
Madame Vice President Rice, or Madame President Rice? It's gotta nice ring to it!!

Thank you, I knew little about her personal life. I found this quite interesting.

Wow! Thanks for the ping! I feel so reassured knowing that the leadership at the top consists of people like President Bush and Ms. Rice, who have a core, a faith. The humility that comes from faith and subordiantion to His will is so important to prevent emotional, half-baked decisions. What a contrast with the self-indulgent adolescents of the last administration.

Thanks for the article. I am PCUSA and from Birmingham. I have seen interviews with the mothers of those children and have been so impressed with their testimonies. They could be filled with hate but aren't because of their faith. Condi is such a special person. It is so great to have people of faith in office right now.

I'm PCUSA also. There are quite a few of us trying to reform the Reformed Church!

Please, Condi, please run against Hillary in 2008...

I try to say in my prayers, "Help me to walk in Your way, not my own."
If she keeps praying this prayer, perhaps she will not be pro-choice for long.

In many ways, it's a wonderful White House to be in because there are a lot of people who are of faith, starting with the president. When you are in a community of faithful, it makes a very big difference not only in how people treat each other but in how they treat the task at hand. What a wonderful statement! It is so refreshing to have a President and administration whose faith is not simply a photo-op but a way of life!
