US announces visa lottery
AMMAN (JT) The United States government has announced the annual immigrant visa lottery programme, an embassy statement said on Friday. The lottery is administered on an annual basis by the Department of State and conducted under the terms of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
It makes available 50,000 permanent resident visas annually to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.
Applications will be chosen randomly by computer, and winners only will be notified by mail.
Instruction sheets in English and Arabic with detailed information on how to apply will be distributed at the front gate of the US embassy in Abdoun from Sunday, Aug. 25 until Monday, Sept. 2 between 8:00am and 3:00pm, Sunday through Thursday.
This information will also be available on the embassy website at www.usembassy-amman.org.jo
I would be a little happier if the visas were limited to people from countries with low rates of terrorism rather than immigration.
Dear Lord, is it possible to fire every last one of the miserable cockroaches who work there before they permit any more damage to America?
Failing that, could we at least retire every single, stinking, last one of them on full pensions just so we could get rid of these pestilent people? It would be so much cheaper than all the ongoing damage they are doing!
I'm not a statastician, but 50,000 visas to people from places where 99% hate us and danced in the streets on 9-11 doesn't seem like good odds.
Is there anyone in the State Dept. with any common sense? Don't they run the Embassies that the Muslims blew up?
1) They understand and demonsrate unwavering loyalty to the Constitution
2) They will be productive
3) They will speak English
Oh, I forgot. Doing that would actually require politicians to put America first. The forces of the New World Order can't have that, can they?
You people who complain about Mexicans should consider yourselves lucky that you don't have Tent Women and their surly husbands as neighbors like I do.
Now that I think of it, Permanent Resident Aliens describes the three branches of our existing government pretty well.
Don't expect all muslims to hold to that. This from Ask The Imam:
Is it allowed to obtain United States Citizenship so that travelling for deen becomes easier?
They require you to promise to bear arms for the country. The oath of allegiance is as follows: The Oath of Allegiance I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God. If they require or ask you to bear arms against a muslim country, what should be the response. Their laws are against 4 marraige law of Islaam. Does the pledge cause any "Ilhaad" or any such anti-islamic view? Please answer according to Hanafi Fiqh.
Answer:1. If your intention is solely to facilitate easier travel, you are permitted to obtain US citizenship. Although the oath of allegiance is un-Islamic in nature, it will not be treated as an 'Islamic oath'. Therefore, you are not compelled to execute the oath.
2. If you are called up to bear arms against Muslims, you are not permitted to do so by Islamic law.
3. The pledge does not constitute Ilhaad.
