SF UNITED WAY TO PAY FOR 'WE ARE NOT THE ENEMY' CAMPAIGN

Apparently under the color of 'diversity appreciation', a full blown campaign - paid for by the local United Way - will include public transit posters printed in English and Arabic declaring "We Are Not The Enemy" featuring the faces of a turbaned male, a mid-eastern appearing woman and others.
This waste of public contributions to United Way was given attention by Barbara Simpson on her KSFO Radio program, Saturday. Barbara has an extensive news reporting/gathering track record in both the television radio media profession. She is also a columnist for WorldNetDaily.
To add insult to injury, it seems the posters will also feature a declaration by the SF District Attorney in which he weaves an argument linking free speech and hate crimes - seemingly intent on curtail or limit public discussion about the possibility that Arab organizations in America are financially or otherwise supporting anti-Western culture terrorists.
At a time when there is another in a series of United Way scandals now focused on the likelihood of misappropriation and mismanagement payroll deduction contributions intended for charitable community work, the decision by the San Francisco chapter to underwrite an attack on First Amendment rights of Citizens is a public relations folly of the first order. And for the SF DA to dare attempt to use the power of his office to gag local public discussion on an issue bearing on our national security, and our ability to free our country of enemy terrorists and their supporters is not only irresponsible; it is stupid.

If terrorists hurt the US through San Franciscostan,
then the individuals who made it possible,
should be held accountable.

Probably just a Protection Ploy to keep them from hitting San Fransisco. Unlike the Saudis, SF does not know who to pay protection money to, so they will try flattering them.
If they do ever hit a target in SF, it will be interesting to see the fate of the posters and their authors.

The whole United Way operation is a scam. If you want to give to a worthy charity, give them direct. That way they get everything. If you give through United Way, they get a percentage.

I just spent 5 minutes at the SFO U-W site at
SFO
(Search for SFO)
Their expressed goals are to help people gain "economic self sufficiency, education, health and safe communities."
I don't know where an "I love Arabs" campaign fits in.
The schmucks who wasted tax free contributions on this crap ought to join the ranks of the unemployed along with the WNEW jerk-jocks!

This is why I have stopped giving a penny to the United Way. I give locally. After the 9/11 fiasco, that was it.

To go direct to the Bay Area United Way Internet Site
Click Here - http://www.theunitedway.org/. I have emailed them and asked for confirmation of this project. I will be curious as to their response, if any.
If I can verify that this project is indeed happening under the auspices of the United Way, they have seen my last donation.

I'm not surprised. Fox has run the assinine "Stop the hate" and "I'm an American" ads, sometimes every half-hour, it seems, for nearly the last year now. They are both highly annoying, but the "stop the hate" crap makes me want to deport the whole bunch. The longer those in-your-face ads run, the angrier I get. No doubt this stupid campaign will have the same effect on the few sane people who may be living in SF.

I stopped contributing to the United Way ten years ago at least when the then-president of the organization used contribution $$$'s to go on a world tour with his girlfriend. I wonder what ever happened to the guy. Probably one week probation plus community service. He ran off with about $450,000.

I've long considered the United Way as part of the "enemy"...

You're referring to the Southern Poverty Law Center ads? Yes, they're awful, but it's basically what Bush has been saying all along. Savage is the only one I know who has the guts to say this is a religious war of Islam against the world.
And, yes, the UF is the enemy as it promotes homosexuality.

Our parish started a capital campaign this weekend. Father Harry read a letter from the archbishop saying that they were under a continuing audit at the archdiocese request to keep to the mandate of the campaign and not to go outside of it. This, in part, is to answer questions about whether this money is, for example, going to Boston to pay off settlements etc. Our archbishop (KC-Leavenworth) is awesome.

Perhaps the American public is the enemy to these guys.

You're referring to the Southern Poverty Law Center ads?I don't think so. These seem to be from "The National Ad Council"--I wouldn't be surprised if they were ultimately funded by the Saudis.
The one starts out "There have been (some rediculous figure) acts of violence committed against Arab muslims in America since 9/11" We're supposed to see how intimidated and oppressed they are here--and it makes me want to throw things! For the sake of not going further in debt to replace my TV, I just hit the remote instead.

I've long considered the United Way as part of the "enemy"... The last check they got from me was about given in 1987. Since then my donations to charities go directly to those charities.

United Way is soliciting the employees where I work. I hesitated to authorize the pay deduction (what a concept for them!) because I seem to recall some shenanigans they've been involved in, and some leftist 'charities' they support. Can someone link to the facts about the United Way? Thanks.
Oh, the payroll deduction form they give has a line like this: 'Contribution: $_ _,_ _ _. _ _ per pay period.' I laughed out loud when I saw that.
