[history]
With President Bush away for a month, a noisy horde of sweaty construction workers and heavy machinery has descended to give the executive mansion a facelift -- about 270 projects ranging from replacing the odd door knob to ripping up and repaving an entire driveway.

Thanks for the ping!
I was wondering if they were going to do more work on the White House while the President is in Texas.

those projects are re-sanding the wood floors in the Oval OfficeWow, they really are serious about getting those pesky Klintoon stains off of the floor.
To: ClaraSuzanne
Yes, it seems the President and First Lady are putting their "month long" vacation to excellant use. :)

Other major projects include replacing the $30,000 jogging track on the South Lawn that was custom-built in 1993 for former President Clinton, like his successor an avid runner.Yeah, x42 I believe rarely used that after the first few times. That was a real waste of money. You can see what a lot of good his jogging does him. What a doofus.

Sorry, guess we didn't have to look at his flaccid skin and flabby arms and legs, did we? Bleh!
To: texasbluebell; Darlin'
Texasbluebell, what a horrid picture, lol! It's important we look at things like this every once in a while to see the stunning contrast between the former sleazy president and the class act we have in W.
Darlin' thanks for the ping. I'm glad the WH is being tended to with the loving care it deserves.

Well, it is a horrid picture, isn't it, and yes, I think it's good to remember how lucky we are today, and I hope will be for the next 6 years or so (keeping fingers crossed).
To: Darlin'
Guess that constant flow in and out of the Lincoln Bedroom prevented regular maintanence during the previous administration.
LOLOL

Maybe this one will cancel out the above. (And I hope it posts, the original link still works and it's showing up in the preview just fine too.)
To: texasbluebell
FOFLOL. He can still cause nightmares. I just want him to go away !

Other major projects include replacing the $30,000 jogging track on the South Lawn...Does anybody know what is being put in it's place? Or is it being renovated? The article said Bush has been using it, so was just curious is all.
