Kabul, bakery, Independence Day parade, National Museum,
Little League baseball, Kandahar, Zhare Dasht, Bagram, bakery, Shiberghan, Red Cross,
Islamabad, Fazal-ur-Rehman, Haq, Teerat, Pakistan, Karachi, Shamzai,
Washington, legal action

In Kabul, at the Independence Day parade.
commemorating Afghanistan's independence from the British in 1919.
Some crowd control, some men dancing with guns.


In Kabul, at the parade, both women and Afghan bodybuilders,
freed by the USA, took part.


at the Kabul National Museum, Buddhist statues. They have been hidden
and recovered from smugglers.
The Taliban broke or stole ~ 70% of the museum's materials.


In Kabul, at the Little League baseball game, organized by SF.
The young lady came with her own glove and ball .

are too comfortable compared to their victims.
Suprising to many still, the Red Cross has become the protectors of the Taliban,
and gives them money, including some it stole from millions
of Americans.

In Teerat, at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Pakistani soldiers patrol
purportedly for Taliban and al Qaeda, and teach others to do the same.

In Islamabad, Pakistan, terrorist Samiul Haq, who runs the Haqqania madrass
threatened the government for trying to reform the madrass.


In Islamabad, Pakistan, terrorist Fazal-ur-Rehman,
head of Jamiat-e-ulema-e-Islam madrass
predicted a "sovereign Islamic state".

In Karachi, Pakistan, terrorist Nizamuddin Shamzai,
who runs many of Pakistan's Islamic schools idolizes Osama bin Laden.

Another good one! Here's a thread with a little bit more on the baseball game:

US troops bring Little League to Afghanistan

The SF guys used an old artillery shell strapped to an old machine gun trolly to make a chalk spreader to mark the baselines. The article says the Afghans are really good at throwing the ball and are deadly accurate (from practice with rocks) but they aren't too good at batting- using a hybrid cricket/rounders stance and sometimes running the bases backwards. Still a good sign overall, I think.

I told myself I wouldn't believe that any real change is happening in Afghanistan until those burqas came off. And lookie here at the pretty girls in their bright colors.
