Qatar News Agency | 8/19/02

AMMAN, Aug. 17, 2002 (QNA via COMTEX) -- Dr. Oasma Al Baz, political advisor to the Egyptian president, said Egypt will not allow passage through the Suez Canal of US ships headed to strike Iraq.

In statements published here Saturday he added Egypt rejects any military operation against Iraq, its territorial unity, independence and safety of Iraqi people, adding any military attack on Iraq represents a vary dangerous step endangering the security of the region.

Dr. Al Baz said the question of UN weapons inspectors is an issue which concerns the UN and the Security Council and not Washington and the US has no right to take any military action against Iraq nor has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of another country and impose a set-up of new leadership on its people.

Dr. Oasma Al Baz

Isn't this just the Iraqi saying this? I'll wait to hear from Egypt before I worry about it.

How many millions, or is it billions of dollars do we give these people each year? Let's balance our own budget for a change. STOP giving our hard earned tax dollars to these people who continuously bite the hand that literally feeds them.

If Uncle Sam wants to use the canal, Uncle Sam will use the canal. If the Navy does not go through Suez it is because the Navy doesn't need to. What is Egypt going to do? block the canal? fire on American warships? Are they so starved for attention that they crave a few cruise missiles of their own?

The US Armed Forces could FART and blow Egypt deep into the African continent. What is it with all of these pissant countries who suddenly think they can body slam with the USA? Clinton sink-filling legacy, perhaps?

What do they mean not let us? I would like to see them stop us if we were really serious about going through it.

To quote P.J. O'Rourke... (sp?)" When was the last time Egypt won a war since the invention of gunpowder"?

The same is true for most of the middle east nations. They seem to be caught in a 10th Century time-warp. There was an article published this week by an Arab who essentially claimed that there was in fact a terrible lack of progress in Arab countries, and that the cause was to be found with Arab attitudes and polcies. It was quite refreshing to read.

All is lost. How can we ever overcome the military might of Egypt?

Oh, my God. Doesn't the thought of confronting the Egyptian Army in Suez just terrify you to the very core of your being?

Here's our chance to give the National Guard some combat exercises...

Let the israelis handle this one for us. I think they could change their mind in a few hours minutes.

Don't underestimate the 'negotiating' prowess of Israel.

I think I like that one better. Israel is in more detail. Yeah, I might just have to print that one out and send it to the local radical Islamic group.

The USA was attacked by the Muslim world on 9-11-2001. We not only have the right to defend ourselves and crush our enemies, it's our duty.

They have some nerve denying us use of their canal after all of the foreign aid they have received from us.

Millions? We give Egypt $2 billion plus per annum, and we have done so for nearly a quarter-century.

I really like your new map of what the world should look like!

Just think of the new open seas for trade, cruising and fishing.

We can still drill for oil from the ocean, like on the North Sea and off our inner coastal areas like the Gulf of Mexico.

This, also, handles that bogus argument of what will we do with the POed 1.5 billion Islamazis after we get rid of their leaders? This settles that bogus argument.
