I've posted about this little angel before. I just received a call that she passed away a few minutes ago. Please pray for her and her family. She fought so hard for so long. Goodbye my little friend.

Story of a tough little girl.

Abi's story.

A site her dad put up. I chatted with some of you about this little girl. Some Freepers have sent her email and cards to Texas Children's Hospital. Her long fight ended a few minutes ago.

I'm so sorry for her family. Prayers for them are being sent right now. Little Abi is in a much better place - no pain, no fear, no illness anymore.

Thanks. I've never seen anyone braver than Abi. The way she fought and fought was incredible.

I'm so sad. I knew this was coming but I'm just so sad. The Lord just wanted her because she is so special. That's the only way I can look at this. Because I just can't grasp why a child would have to experience what she did.

Here's a hug from my heart. I sure don't have any magical answers for you, so this is really all I have left to offer.

The suffering of a child is one of those Big questions on my list - for when I meet Him in person.

All I know is it's in His hands and I try to keep reminding myself of that when I falter. We just have to take it on faith that He has His reasons.

She is at peace and I know she's in a much better place. And she'll be there to greet her family when the time comes.

Just hang on till the hurting diminishes. That's all anyone can do. ((((HUG)))

Some time back I asked Abi's mother "what does she collect". I thought that maybe she collected stuffed animals or dolls or whatever. And we could get people to send something to her. Her mom replied "Abi collects people".

Boy, was that true. She sure collected me, my family, and so many others. She was here for just a few years but she will not be forgotten. She stood up to the cancer until the very end. She was the toughest person I have ever known.

Her situation brought out the best in people. The kindness that people extended to her was so touching. Tickets to shows, fundraisers for her mom and family, etc. People saw her situation and helped. Without questions or want for thanks. We live in such a fantastic country and are surrounded by caring and loving people.

It's early still and I'm waiting for my wife to wake up. I hate to tell her that Abi is gone. But I'm sure she will agree that Abi is in a better place.

Mt 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

The disciples approached Jesus and said,
"Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?"
He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said,
"Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children,
you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Whoever becomes humble like this child
is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you that their angels in heaven
always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.
What is your opinion?
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray,
will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills
and go in search of the stray?
And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it
than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.
In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father

FOOTPRINTS

One night a man had a dream. He dreamt he was walking with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes of his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it had happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered the man and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
