Not true, my initial comments were about military leaders asking for God to smite their enemies. I have mentioned nothing that would make anyone think I was commenting on any specific religion, other than I don't think the Muslim religion is evil. I don't give credence to any organised religion. Matters of religion are not the same as specific beliefs in any organised religion, ie, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc. It appears that you have a great desire to win and belittle others that don't think as you, so I will sign off.

Weren't these supposed to be islamic "holy" (oxymoron)men?

The USA has mosques scattered all over. There are four in Ohio that I know of, but I wonder what would happen if a Christian church was proposed for an arab nation?

How about a few bombs for Mecca after we wipe out the Saudi oilfields?

Now that truly would be a War on Terrorism.

I firmly believe in one, all-powerful God. I assign no logic to my belief in God, because I believe God to be above/beyond our earthly comprehension or logic. I do not believe that I will suffer because I do not adhere to the tenets of any man-made religion.

Proof that your beliefs are correct. We are talking about God, the creator of the universe. Why would you limit Him to our pitiful human comprehension? All things are possible with God, and nothing is provable. I don't study any texts because my beliefs are just as valid as those of anyone.

New Ager alert. Grab your crystals, Ouija board, and Mayan calendar. Here we go...........

"Not true, my initial comments were about military leaders asking for God to smite their enemies."

Of which there are none in the story posted....[As has been pointed out already]....that was a tangeant introduced by you so as to facilitate an opportunity to communicate your unqualified perspective.

Those are the comments to be discarded.

"I have mentioned nothing that would make anyone think I was commenting on any specific religion"

I have made no comment asserting that you did. You put forth the unqualified "thought" that all religions could be correct in their teaching.

"other than I don't think the Muslim religion is evil."

Obviously....but considering "Evil" is a classification with its roots in organized religion, how would you know?

"I don't give credence to any organised religion. Matters of religion are not the same as specific beliefs in any organised religion, ie, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc."

None of that is consequential to the discussion. Again, a desire to tell what you "think" even though it is not germain to the discussion.

"It appears that you have a great desire to win"

Winning will determine itself. My concern at this point is exposing your complete lack of credibility when commenting on the correctness or lack-there-of for any organized religion.

"...so I will sign off.

At this point, that is the best decision you could make....[Other than Salvation of course].

~grin~

Haven't many military leaders (of all faiths), in the past, prayed to God to help them defeat their enemies? This is nothing new. …I agree with the recent history thing, and I apologize if I sounded condescending. I believe Gen. Patton prayed for the destruction of his enemies, as did Grant, Lee, Joan of Arc, many of the Puritan religious leaders, and probably many more throughout history.

While it may not be unique throughout history (this isn’t a new call for followers of Islam , for example) I don’t believe any of your examples ever called for the destruction of a civilian population based on their faith, or condoned civilian deaths at all, other than in connection with military operations. I certainly don’t believe they prayed for it.

I think you’re focusing on the verbal similarity of an Islamic sermon, vs a Christian one, rather than the genocidal aspect of these Imman’s definition of “enemies”. They aren’t calling for “smiting enemies” in a military sense, rather for the murder of a large slice of the world’s population, based on faith.

SJ, IMHO Stu fully comprehends the difference.

But it is of little consequence when his prime motive is to explain his unsolicited "thoughts" about Religion in general as a sort of fait accompli towards his own validation and ultimate acceptance.

I am not being malevolent about it...just drilling down a little deeper then maybe some would.

This is nothing new This is nothing new indeed, Islam has declared WAR on the Jews, and the Christians. Yet, the USA, and Europe (supposedly Nations with Christian majority) has refused to recognize this fact. 09.11.01 was a wakeup call, but did waken the Christians yet. What will it take I wonder.

They call what they worship "God" (in their own language). "Allah" means "God" or if you prefer "god". Are they really worshipping God? I would say not. But that's what the word "Allah" means, cognate with the Hebrew "Eli".

Muslims claim their God is the same God as the God of the Bible. Can't be. They contradict each other. Ever hear of the law of non-contradiction? They can say whatever they like, but the Koran contradicts the bible on hundreds of points, including the nature of the one God. As I said, their God originated from the moon god - this is documented quite well by archeologists.

Islam is patterned on a sort of twisted Judaism with a bit of twisted Christianity thrown in. The business of there being only one God didn't come from some pagan moon-cult, even if Islam still has some elements of it.

You are right, there are some elements of judaism and Christianity thrown in - that's because Islam didn't come for 600 years after Christianity. What they did was twist the bible into something of their own liking. The entire religion is built upon irrational lies and the evidence militates against it - especially archeology. The business of one God started in the beginning when God placed man on this earth. Contrary to what the naturalist professors teach in universities, theistic belief was monotheistic in the beginning, and became polytheistic later, not vice versa.

Yemen, and Saudi Arabia are allies Allies, against who, against themselves? IMHO, we are whistling in the dark.

This is of course correct, but Arab Cristians also call God "Allah". It's just what the word means. There were Arab Christians long before Muhammad.

Just as "Baal" means "master" or "Adonis" means "lord" without diminishing the proper use of those titles.

all religions are man made Let us assume that your statement is true. But allow me the same courtesy to say that Man does things for a purpose. So Christ must have had a purpose in establishing his religion. Was his purpose to become King of the Jews, obviously not, he got crucified for it. Was he then the ultimate masochist, or was his love for his fellowmen truely devine? I don't beleive Christ is an ultimate masochist. Since man is fallable, and is therefore incapable of devine love, Christ must be devine. Thus Christianity is not man made.

"Too kind? That's the first time anyone has accused me of that! haha. I advocate destruction of Mecca and the outlawing of Islam in the U.S. What more would you do? "

Personal experience has left me too bitter to safely detail my wishes here, and too old to change my ways.

Needless to say I would prefer something a little more global. And Instead of destroying Mecca, I'd like to see the mosque there turned into a rib joint, with a really huge parking lot. Medina can house the keg bar.

What if The Christ, known as Jesus of Nazareth was simply stating the plain truth. You have invented your own religion. That's no different from living in your own reality. Not realistic, healthy or productive. Your god is to small.
