In a tactical misstep, Mayor Michael Bloomberg boasted inaccurately Friday that the City Council speaker supports his sweeping new anti-smoking bill. The legislative leader, Gifford Miller, later emphasized he has yet to back it.

Bloomberg's latest turn against smoking is far-reaching and would make it illegal to light up even in workplaces, which now have designated smoking areas. The bill would also apply to outdoor cafes, where smoking is currently permitted.

I only see him preaching tolerance for his point of view. He has no tolerance for those with a differing position.

According to him my husband and I are bad parents and are setting a bad example for our daughter because we smoke. Excuse me, but what kind of examply are he and Seitz setting for those two little girls???

I personally don't give a hoot what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom - just don't shove it down my throat at they same time you are telling me to keep my life choices behind closed doors..

They always talk about the privacy of their own bedroom but if I see them on their website how is that private? When they are on the basket ball court at half time kissing on national TV, how is that in the "Privacy of their bedroom"? When they march in gay pride parades how is that private?

When they run organizations that promote perversion and are Anti-smoker how is that private?

My point exactly.

Any one that knows me (SheLion are you listening?) can tell you that while I have a volatile temperment, but I am not a basher by nature. And the last thing I want to do is stoop to the low level of the behavior of the anti-smokers.

But in the case of Cherner, I am coming closer and closer to changing my position.
