#1 WEB SITE FREEREPUBLIC.COM CANNOT BE BEAT FOR NEWS AND ACTIVISM
Freerepublic.com is the #1 stickest web site on the internet can't be beat for news first and activism with success after success. When people get here they stay and become a part of the political force for change that is freerepublic.com.
Thanks to Jim Robinson and John Robinson for giving America a place where they can be a part of something much bigger than themselves. Where when you leave all you think about is getting back to the republic and your friends and fellow freepers. It is exciting and full of news you don't get anywhere else. Why do you think Drudge Report doesn't link here? I am willing to say it is because we are his source. That is just a guess. Matt can correct me if I am wrong of course.
Ann Coulter the number 1 bestselling author is a freeper who says we make her happy and that is something most NORMAL FREEPERS go away from here with, is happiness.
So as you cruise the site and talk with friends and tell others about the best conservative web site remember it is all because of Freepers hard work and dedication to Freerepublic. And of course the hard work of Jim and John Robinson.
There are many A FreeRepublic wanna be out there but None, not ONE even comes close to the #1 FreeRepublic...

Free Republic has completely changed my life. It is a tremendous resource for not only breaking news with real time commentary but also for in depth news and fascinating discussions on virtually every topic of interest. I have learned more in my five years on Free Republic than perhaps all the years in my life up to that point and that is no exaggeration.
Used to be that I would watch the 11:00 news every night to get the latest news, sports and weather. I haven't sat down and watched a news broadcast on television in years. With Free Republic I am up to speed in minutes and then I can easily spend hours going in depth on the current events that interest me. (If I want sports or weather, I can zip right over to ESPN or AccuWeather.com. but Free Republic usually covers sports and weather too!)
September 11 was a perfect example of what I am talking about. During that first hour, people in my office were stumbling around with all sorts of misinformation. One person was saying that the Senate Building got taken out and another was saying that there were at least a dozen more hijacked planes out there. I logged onto Free Republic and within minutes, the entire office congregated around me because I had all the latest information.
Same for the election nightmare of 2000. It was Free Republic that kept me sane during that uncertain month and I am convinced that Free Republic not only helped keep Algore from stealing the election but they generated enough votes for Bush to win him Florida in the first place (thanks in large part to bringing a lot of attention to the Elian controversy earlier that year).

One positive of FR is the simple collection of news stories gathered by dedicated FReepers. One would have to browse literally 100+ websites to get the same information.
Perhaps the biggest assest of Free Republic is the members who post from little-known sources. Local stories in someone's town newspaper could have far-reaching consequences, and many FReepers may never have known about it if it hadn't been for FR.

Ditto that - BTW you did good work on "Capitol Grilling."

Franticly searching the web, shortly after the schlickmeister first got elected, I found FreeRepublic, at that time in it's infancy. It was like being thrown a life preserver in the dead of a pitch black night while floundering in a bottomless, seething sea!
I've never posted; just lurked and read and found solice in the knowledge that we are many.
I flew from the Left coast(Seattle)to the People's city(D.C.) to attend "The March For Justice",and I returned feeling wonderful and knowing that Clinton's legacy was sealed.
I log on almost daily, still, and I wonder how many more like me there are who silently gather strength and make it through thanks to FREEREPUBLIC.COM.
God bless Jim Robinson

That part in your post about many vs few. That is how i think of the site 24/7 it rolls along. Go to the wanna be JUST LIKE FREEREPUBLIC sites and you see things like 0 comments no comments, you get the drift, no one is there. Here and it is alive.

Real UNSLANTED news and information. No more distilled rotbrain from the alphabet networks.
A place to express our views, debate, compare notes, learn, be entertained.
A way to debate and debunk/contradict mushy liberal arguments.
FR serves as a "watchdog" keeping an eye out for the usual leftist politics and dirty tricks.
Most of all, we can spread the word to reality-challenged, media-influenced, or just plain underinformed folks.
How about it? Has anyone here lately tried introducing a friend, family member, co-worker, to this site?
No way have we even BEGUN to approach common knowledge here, much less "market" saturation.

Do you think the Klamath Falls issue would have even made the big screens if it weren't for FR stringers feeding us the "important" news?

And back atcha, Xena! I'm honored to know you!

Hi! My name is Humidston and I'm an FR addict....
(Actually I've never met such fantastic people anywhere else. Every time we had FReeps in Houston, I got an opportunity to meet more good honest, and decent Americans who share my values. You can't beat that - especially when that pervert was president and the future looked so dim!)

Free Republic is like the UL (Underwriter's Labratories) of every news outlet around the world. Any news put up on this site is mercilessly assailed by many points of view, and only the facts remain standing. Opinions that are true are proven true, and false opinions are ravaged until rendered unrecognizable. Hard-news items are run through a ringer that network news numbskulls only wish that they could deliver to their audiences, or lie awake in fear that someone else (O'Reilly for example) will do it and take even more of their audience away. News analysis that illustrates what journalism used to be, and should be today...JFK

As you more eloquently said than I can, the collective wisdom of the Freepers makes an incredibly sensative B***S*** meter. Any story that withstands the onslaught of Freeper opinion and questioning almost always turns out to be accurate no matter how incredible it may seem.

Thumbs up Sam.
FR has altered my news gathering habits as well. I barely watch Television news anymore. Outside of extended programs like The Jim Lerher Report on PBS, or major events, TV news is history in my house (I don't have cable TV). .
